Optimism about million-euro transfers for two potential top players: “On track to come to Eindhoven”

1 min read

It does not happen often that PSV brings in, or can bring in, top players from Serie A to the Philips Stadium. Still, it does look like that. It also seems that a multi-million transfer between PSV and NEC is on the way.

Or else speaking, PSV is on track to bring both Filip Kostić and Kodai Sano to the Philips Stadium. Those could rightly be called two top transfers, aside from the fact that both players are sought after from every perspective.

PSV currently has 'cautious' confidence in the arrival of both aforementioned players. That reports the Eindhoven daily Eindhovens Dagblad. Both transfers seemed to have fallen through last week, but there is hope again that both top signings can be quickly pulled off. At least, that is what the regional paper says. That can rightly be called good news, alongside the fact that both players are welcome reinforcements for Peter Bosz's somewhat drowsy squad. At least, if we take into account both games they lost against Villarreal and AZ.

Peter Bosz’s selection screams for fresh and new blood. “Kostic and Sano are on course to come to Eindhoven soon,” writes the Eindhovens Dagblad on Monday evening. The transfer of Kostic, who is available for transfer on a free transfer, will most likely be completed earlier. This is because Sano is still active with NEC in the preliminary round of the Champions League, but that obstacle can also be dealt with quickly, sources close to the action say.

'Last week, PSV pulled the plug on talks with NEC because the club from Nijmegen was asking for too much money', the regional newspaper reports. However, the talks have since resumed and all parties would like to compromise. 'Later this month, it seems to be leading to a final deal. First, Sano focuses on NEC and securing qualification for the Champions League.'

'At PSV, there is growing cautious confidence that a two-year contract with Kostic can be reached and that he will fly to Eindhoven,' the outlet writes about the transfer of former Juve player Kostic. The 33-year-old experienced Serb seems to want to come to Eindhoven himself, but there are still matters to be worked out. PSV is also still fully focused on the arrival of Geertruida, around whom things currently seem calm, except that PSV has reached a personal agreement with the defender. More later.

😂 rivals watching for real. If PSV gets Kostic for two years and Sano as NEC is still in the qualifiers, that midfield/wing rotation is going to be annoying to play against. Just dont get robbed again at the finish like last transfers.

The NEC asking too much then PSV pulling the plug is classic bargaining. Good that theyre talking again, but i want guarantees before we build plans around it. If NEC gets through, PSV better not lose the leverage.

"Op koers om binnenkort naar Eindhoven te komen" sounds nice, but i've heard that before. Kostic transfervrij is the easier win, so why cant we close him first and let Sano finish with NEC? ⚽

Sano waiting on NEC's Champions League qualifier makes sense, but it also means we could be stalling in pre-season. If we need him for tactics early, this schedule is a gamble. I'd rather pay a bit more and get it done, tbh.

psv voorzichtig vertrouwen is echt PSV style na die mislukte transfers dit jaar lol. i like both names though, Sano for balance and Kostic for that final touch/tempo. lets see it get signed and not just "on course" 👀

If Kostic actually picks Eindhoven over AEK, thats a statement. With his experience PSV can finally control games instead of just hoping for the transition moments. I just worry the Kostic deal is another "almost" like the Pepi/Obispo/Nagalo situation.
