“No transfer to England for PSV target”
1 min readThe Eindhoven Dagblad reported on Monday evening that both Filip Kostic and Kodai Sano are on track to come to PSV. For the latter, it has also become clear that there will not be a transfer to the Premier League.
That writes the English outlet The Telegraph. Sano has enjoyed interest over the past few months from clubs from various Premier League teams and also from various German clubs.
Nevertheless, the Japanese midfielder has set his sights on a transfer to PSV. But first, the key player of Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie will still be in action on Tuesday evening for Dick Schreuder's side against Olympiacos in the Champions League qualifying round.
''Last week, PSV pulled the plug on talks with NEC because the club from Nijmegen was asking for too much money. Later this month, it appears to be leading to a definitive deal. First, Sano settles with NEC on qualification for the Champions League'', the ED wrote earlier.
Earlier, Sano still seemed to be on track to head to Germany to continue his career with TSG Hoffenheim. However, the Germans had already signed Nathan De Cat from RSC Anderlecht and therefore decided to leave the Japanese player alone on the left.

If PSV already wanted him, why make it so hard by stopping talks over price? I get it, but with Sano locked on PSV it shouldnt take that much negotiation. Still, great business if it lands. 💯
Die zin over PSV die de stekker uit de gesprekken trok met NEC... i snap het, maar het blijft frustrerend. Voor hetzelfde geld had je nu al rond kunnen zijn als ze gewoon wat eerder konden schuiven met de vraagprijs. Smh. 😅
Tbh i was expecting a Germany move for Sano, but the Hoffenheim switch makes sense. The ED saying PSV pulled the plug over NEC asking too much is pure PSV, cautious but effective. 👀
Interesting that the Telegraph says no PL, but honestly it makes sense. If Sano is prioritizing PSV, it was just a matter of who could align the fees with NEC. 👀

Love this for PSV, Sano choosing PSV over the Premier League is a statement. If he then also performs vs Olympiakos, it will feel like the transfer is already a go. 🔥⚽
