Myron Boadu on his way to England
1 min readThis summer, the club management decided not to renew Myron Boadu's contract, and as a result, to this day Boadu still has not found a new employer. Despite this, the attacker continued to train with Peter Bosz's squad until technical director Earnest Stewart personally informed the player that no new contract was coming.
Now it seems Boadu has found a new employer. According to the English transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, the former PSV player is about to continue his career at Watford FC.
Jacobs writes this on the social media platform X. The Hornets play in the Championship and according to the journalist, the intention is that the former PSV player is still to be assessed in England on Tuesday.
Last season, Boadu joined PSV after Alassane Pléa was severely injured during the second competitive match when they visited FC Twente (0-2). The former AZ striker was also unable to truly impress at PSV, partly due to injuries.
In 2021, the forward moved from AZ to AS Monaco, and through loan spells with, among others, FC Twente and VfL Bochum, the striker ended up at PSV last year. After a season, the cooperation between PSV and Boadu came to an end again.

"Boadu... op weg naar Engeland" watford in the Championship is kind of peak career detour though. I still think he has talent, but at PSV it never became the goals we hoped for, injuries or not. 👀
Honestly, letting him go even while he kept training was the right call. He trained with Bosz, Stewart confirms no new contract, and then he lands in England, that tells you the club had made up its mind.
Goal!! jk... (oké, ik ben niet objektief). Voor Watford is dit volgens mij een gamble: veel arbeid, maar de vraag is of hij lichamelijk weer op niveau komt. PSV heeft hem denk ik terecht laten vertrekken.
🙄 Viel me op dat hij na Pléa's blessure eigenlijk een soort noodoplossing werd. Dan moet je als aanvaller juist rendement geven, en dat deed Boadu tbh te weinig.
"dat er geen nieuw contract ging komen" ... die zin zegt genoeg. Genoeg kansen gehad in de selectie, maar hij maakte het verschil niet. Ik ben benieuwd of hij daar eindelijk consistent kan scoren.

🔥 Watford in de Championship, dat is wel een flinke stap omlaag qua niveau. Maar eerlijk, bij PSV kwam hij er met blessures en beperkte indruk ook nooit echt doorheen.
Ben Jacobs die zegt Watford... Championship is iig een andere realiteit. Ik snap wel dat Bosz hem liet meetrainen, maar als Stewart al vroeg duidelijk maakt dat het klaar is, dan is het gewoon klaar.
If Watford is really the move, thats a clear "reset" for Boadu. Tbh im not shocked PSV ended it, his impact was basically missing after that injury-hit start.
Tbh het voelt als een gemiste kans. Boadu had z'n momenten, maar als hij nooit echt fit was en je hem uiteindelijk laat gaan, dan moet je wel snel iets beters klaar hebben staan.
