1 min readPSV wants to move quickly with the transfer of Kodai Sano. Earlier, Mounir Boualin and Rik Elfrink reported that Sano is on his way to PSV after an agreement was reached with NEC regarding the transfer of the Japanese player.
Daarby knows Elfrink to bring to light that the date is known on which the midfielder will be medically examined by PSV. PSV will medically examine Sano on Wednesday, 5 August.
Should the Japanese player pass the medical examination, he will soon be able to call himself a PSV player. Sano will then be the second Japanese player in the PSV shirt after Ritsu Doan.
Earlier, PSV still pulled the plug on negotiations with the Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie because the club management at PSV felt the asking price was too high. The men from Nijmegen wanted a sum of eighteen million euros on the table for their key player.
Ultimately, both clubs have still reached an agreement over the transfer fee. Sano will move to Eindhoven for €14.5 million and it has also become clear that the midfielder will not be in action on Tuesday evening if NEC is playing in the Champions League preliminary round against Greek side Olympiakos, Elfrink writes on X.

Sano voor 14,5 miljoen en na Doan de 2e Japanse speler. Dat is wel lekker gezien PSV ook die scoutinglijn doorzet. Nu wel hopen dat ie medisch top is, want medische issues zijn altijd het echte drama.
"dinsdagavond niet in actie komt"... pijnlijk voor NEC, maar voor PSV waarschijnlijk beter. Middenveld kan alvast naar z'n vorm toe met voorbereiding, hopelijk direct impact.
Tbh ik snap het niet helemaal dat Sano dinsdag niet speelt tegen Olympiakos. Als je nog kan spelen en je waarde bewijst, waarom niet dan? Maar oké, als het transfer-proces al rond is, is dit logisch voor rust.
Idk hoor, 18 miljoen was te veel volgens PSV, maar ineens wordt het dus 14,5. Prima, maar ben benieuwd welke concessies PSV heeft gedaan in het proces, want dat soort verschillen betekent altijd onderhandelingen.
5 augustus medische keuring, nice. Als die selectie langs komt kan PSV snel schakelen, want 14,5 miljoen is eindelijk een haalbare deal.
