La Gazetta dello Sport: “And then to think that PSV wanted to have him fly to the Netherlands.”
1 min readIn fact, the arrival of Italian top talent Alphadjo Cissé, an ideal prospect for the playing style of Peter Bosz’s team, had already been almost done, but at the very last moment AC Milan blocked the transfer. A huge disappointment, which is now only just starting to take effect in terms of getting things done.
What exactly is going on? AC Milan offered a different path and loaned the forward out for half a year to Catanzaro. During the pre-season, he impressed coach Rúben Amorim and on Sunday he was allowed to start against Torino. Cissè scored right away and is currently a hot topic in Italian media. PSV is therefore also pointed to in the well-known La Gazetta.
PSV had practically already signed him. Then came the twist. Within 24 hours, he had signed with AC Milan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport is therefore not restrained in her analysis of the striker. 'Cissè made the goal of his life without blinking: a perfect first touch and a volley with his right foot, as if in his nineteen years he had done nothing else but decide Serie A matches. In truly grandiose fashion. Milan won the opening match in Turin and the defining image of the match is of the young Alpha. Cissè launched his career.'
'He was in the starting lineup from the first match, and it will now be difficult to dislodge him from there. Pulisic and Diego Moreira, maybe even Leão, will try, but there is no guarantee they will succeed in doing so. And then to think that PSV let him fly to the Netherlands. PSV had practically already signed him over. Then came the twist. Within 24 hours, he had signed with AC Milan', the well-known Italian sports newspaper points to the near transfer to PSV.

La Corriere dello Sport also sees a new star rising at AC Milan. 'The forward of AC Milan storms across the pitch and takes his opponents by surprise, both with the ball at his feet and without it. Between the compliments from the AC Milan bench and in the press, it is inevitable that a bit of pressure has slipped in. Against Torino, Cissè paid no attention to the pressure and instead put everyone around him under pressure. First match for Milan, first goal. Cissé is a stormy footballer', it is quoted by Voetbal International.
'This is a unique feeling for me. I probably would never have dared to dream of making my debut for AC Milan and scoring straight away.' After the match, Amorim was also very pleased with the youngster. 'He is clever, he is always alert, even after a few months on the sidelines. In the first half, he almost looked like our most experienced player,' says the leading figure in an interview with DAZN, the broadcaster of Serie A.

Man, dat doet pijn hoor.
