Ivan Perišić vs FC Barcelona

1 min read

As has by now become customary, his name is once again making the rounds in connection with big clubs showing interest in his services. Ivan Perišić is still hot and happening in European football. His name is still regularly mentioned among a number of technical directors, mainly at the large clubs in Southern Europe.

Also this transfer window is again a comings and goings of clubs that are linked to Ivan Perišić. In Milan, the management of Internazionale sees how compatriot Luka Modrić is still causing a sensation at fellow city club AC Milan—and that at the age of 41. Perišić is only 37 years old and can still go for a few more years. And so it seems Inter wants to make another attempt this summer for the Croatian PSV player.

PSV in any case wants again and again not to cooperate with a departure of Ivan Perišić to Inter. That reports the Eindhovens Dagblad on Wednesday. The 37-year-old Croat may only leave if a substantial sum of money is put on the table, something that Inter has no intention of doing.

The winger still has a contract until mid-2027 and the club wants to keep him to that. This season, Ivan Perišić will likely play from the right now that Ruben van Bommel is almost fully fit again.

Yet PSV still has to keep a close eye on the future of Ivan Perišić. The Croat could leave for FC Barcelona for a minimum amount. That is reported by Eindhovens Dagblad. However, a return to Inter has not been set down in writing. In that case, Inter would have to go 'through the till of technical director Earnest Stewart,' the regional paper writes.

Goal!! No, wait... "langs de kassa van technisch directeur Earnest Stewart" 😂 bruh, why does it always come down to money people.

From right side with Ruben van Bommel almost fit? That sounds like PSV trying to keep Perisic involved without breaking the whole system. But Barca at minimum fee is a tactical nightmare for the board.

ngl, i just see Inter dragging their feet again. PSV has him under contract until 2027, so make them pay. Barca with a minimum deal though... thats where it gets scary 😅.

"langs de kassa van technisch directeur Earnest Stewart" lol that line reads like Inter will still have to pay someone. If Barca get him cheap, PSV better have a proper replacement plan, because 2027 contract or not, you cannot keep getting rinsed. 💀

tbh if Inter dont pay "flinke som geld", then good, keep him. But playing from right with van Bommel fit is the real question, can he deliver assists and not just recycled crosses? 🔥

From the outside PSV sounding stubborn, but the Barca clause is what worries me. If Perisic can go there for a "minimaal bedrag", then PSV's leverage feels kinda fake. 👀

"PSV wil in ieder geval opnieuw en andermaal niet meewerken aan een vertrek" is fine, but a minimum amount to Barca changes everything. If we lose him for that fee, its hard to call it good planning.

If that Barca clause is real, PSV echt moeten oppassen. Inter thinking they can get him for cheap is peak naah. Van Bommel fit or not, Perisic is still our weapon.
