1 min readPSV has officially presented Sami Ouaissa as their new player. Ouaissa is coming for an amount of nine million euros from NEC and signs a contract until mid-2031.
Earlier the shirt number of the winger prospect leaked. Ouaissa takes shirt number 11 over from Couhaib Driouech, who left earlier this summer for Celta de Vigo.
Last season, the newly signed PSV player was an important link for NEC, which under the leadership of Dick Schreuder managed to qualify for the Champions League qualifying round. In Eindhoven, Ouaissa is also reunited with Kodai Sano, who earlier this summer also made the move from Nijmegen to PSV.
On PSV’s club website, the newcomer speaks out for the first time about his transfer. “It has always been my dream to play for PSV,” begins the winger.
Then Ouiassa goes on and also expresses his ambitions. "As a young guy, I already went to De Herdgang with my PSV scarf to watch training sessions and to get my photo taken with players. It feels fantastic to now be allowed to wear that iconic red-and-white shirt myself. PSV is a top club. The style of play appeals to me, the squad appeals to me, the coaching staff appeals to me, and I could go on for a while. I am hugely driven to start winning as many trophies as possible here in Eindhoven," said the newly signed PSV player.
Technical director Earnest Stewart is also delighted to see Ouaissa in the PSV kit. ''With Sami, we are once again adding a quality player to our squad. In recent years, he has shown that he has a great deal of creativity, threat, and output. In addition, his mentality appeals to us. We see in him a player with plenty of potential and the right attitude to take the next steps in his development. Tbh ik vind Stewart zn verhaal sterk, maar ik wil de rol zien. Gaat Ouaissa starten als directe vleugelspeler met dreiging, of wordt hij meer gekoppeld aan combinaties centraal? Als hij inderdaad creativiteit + mentaliteit heeft, kan hij meteen een verschilmaker zijn, maar 9 miljoen moet ook echt punten brengen. 🤬
"Het is altijd al mijn droom geweest om voor PSV uit te komen"... ik word er wel emotioneel van. 👀 Maar nu moeten we het ook waarmaken op het veld, en liefst snel. Met nummer 11 en hereniging met Sano zie ik wel chemistry, maar die 11 hoeft niet meteen alles te dragen.
"PSV is een topclub" oké maar ik wil prijzen. Als hij zegt dat hij zoveel mogelijk wil pakken, dan moet hij ook leveren in Europa en niet alleen tegen teams uit de onderste helft. Wie gaat hem de ballen geven, want De Herdgang dreams moeten nu omzet worden. ⚽
Ik ben benieuwd of hij bij PSV de rol pakt als echte dreiging vanaf de vleugels, of dat hij vaker in dezelfde looplijnen gaat hangen als de rest. Stewart heeft het over creativiteit, rendement en mentaliteit, maar ik verwacht ook directe impact in duels en voorzetten. Anders wordt 9 miljoen toch snel "mid" tbh.
Die quote "Het is altijd al mijn droom geweest" klinkt zo oprecht, maar ik wil vooral zien of hij het ook op snelheid en in de 16 waarmaakt. Met Sano erbij kan dat rechts-links echt een gevaarlijke combinatie worden. 👀
9 miljoen voor Ouaissa voelt als slimme business, vooral met dat contract tot 2031. 🔥 Hopelijk pakt hij bij ons die creativiteit en rendement meteen op, want PSV kan echt een extra dreiging op de vleugels gebruiken.
