Hirving Lozano hopes for PSV in terms of transfer of Mexican super talent
1 min readHe has not spent the best years of his career behind him, but nonetheless he is still regarded as a figurehead of Mexican football. Nowadays he plays for FC San Diego, but even there things are not going smoothly, as they also were not in his last season at PSV, despite the fact that things were not going smoothly there either. The 30-year-old Lozano has not been selected for the World Cup on home soil.
Yet Hirving Lozano is still associated with his masterful years at PSV, and so his name has been mentioned this week in relation to PSV. This time, it concerns a major Mexican talent, named Gilberto Mora. Lozano would like to see Mora playing at PSV in the near future.
That says Lozano in an interview with the Mexican branch of ESPN. The seventeen-year-old Mora meanwhile has already been selected for the World Cup and already has eight international appearances to his name as well. In Mexico, a great future is therefore being predicted for him.
"Absolutely", Lozano answers in conversation with ESPN’s Mexican branch when Lozano is asked whether he finds a player for PSV who is called Mora. "I was with him at the national team training camp. And I sincerely wish him all the very best; he’s a great guy."

"To be honest, I really think Mora is a great player. Mora has a lot of talent and is currently developing incredibly fast. His career needs to be managed well", Lozano continues. The former PSV player also believes that Mora should keep discipline at the forefront.
Mora, as mentioned, is only seventeen years old but still played eight matches for the Mexican national team. The attacking midfielder plays in Mexico for Club Tijuana. In the previous season 2025/2026, he played twenty matches, in which he scored six goals and provided one assist. Left winger is also a position that suits him. On Thursday, Mora may see action with Mexico. The host country will then play the opening match of the World Cup against South Africa.

PSV usually does it well, but we need a plan for minutes, not just a transfer. Discipline is nice, but thats also on us, not only on Mora.
Interesting take from Lozano, but at 17 i hope PSV arent rushing him purely for hype. 6 goals in 20 is solid though, and left wing also fits. 👀
