“Future PSV player must undergo a second medical examination”
1 min readPSV will strengthen itself with former youth striker Sam Lammers from FC Twente. In Enschede, the forward has ended up sidelined partly due to the arrival of Wout Weghorst, and as a result Lammers will soon return to PSV.
Last Monday, the striker was medically assessed at TopSupport in Eindhoven. Despite this, no white smoke has yet appeared and the official presentation therefore still does not take place.
This has to do with the former youth player needing to undergo a second medical assessment in Eindhoven. Journalist Tijmen van Wissing of RTV Oost tells Radio Oost.
''Lammers, who dropped out injured last week during the run-up to the crucial match at FK Qarabag, appears, despite the additional medical assessment, to be making the move to the Eindhoven club anyway'', says Van Wissing.
Earlier this week, PSV already managed to strengthen its squad with Sami Ouaissa from NEC and Ayoni Santon from Sparta Rotterdam. In addition to Lammers, the seventeen-year-old Danish talent Mikkel Bro Hansen from FK Bodø/Glimt is also expected to join PSV.
At the beginning of July, PSV presented Sven Mijnans as the first new signing of the 2026/2027 season, and after that it seemed to remain quiet for a long time in Eindhoven. However, that has changed in recent weeks, and among others Kodai Sano, Filip Kostic and Lutsharel Geertruida were introduced as newcomers at PSV.

If Lammers had to bail from FC Twente due to injury before Qarabag, then that second check is not shocking. Still, I want clear communication because delaying presentations always kills the hype.
Deze week ook Ouaissa en Santon erbij, PSV is echt aan het doorselecteren. Bro Hansen en Lammers tegelijk... das weer een hele hoop nieuwe namen, ik ben benieuwd wie er nu minuten gaat krijgen.
"nog altijd geen witte rook" voelt toch wat zenuwslopend lol. Als ze dit moeten doen dan is de medische staff wel streng, dat is positief.
Wout Weghorst pushte hem uit de basis, logisch. Maar laat Lammers straks wel echt knallen als hij gepresenteerd wordt, anders is het gewoon bench-shopping.
Bro Hansen too from Bodo/Glimt? That is a lot of incoming forwards, Ouaissa and Santon as well. I just hope we do not end up with too many projects and not enough quality upfront 👀
idk waarom die tweede keuring nog nodig is, maar als het om dezelfde blessure gaat na Qarabag dan snap ik het. Tbh liever te veilig dan te laat met Lammers.
Oké dus al medisch in Eindhoven, maar nu nog een tweede keuring. Hopelijk gewoon formaliteit en geen blessure-update die tegenvalt.
"Lammers ... lijkt ondanks de extra keuring gewoon de overstap te maken" gives me peace. Still, that injury he picked up vs Qarabag build-up worries me a bit.
If he already had a medical in TopSupport, why another one so soon? Tbh i like the ambition, but i need clarity before calling it a done deal.
