Elfrink is certain: “Still the number one candidate”
1 min readAccording to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink from Eindhovens Dagblad, Lutsharel Geertruida of RB Leipzig is still the main candidate to strengthen PSV in defense. Elfrink writes that in the ED.
The PSV watcher is optimistic for PSV. ''PSV is looking for the central defender, as is well known, moving around in Germany, where Lutsharel Geertruida plays for RB Leipzig. He was still the top candidate to strengthen PSV last week,'' the journalist writes.
According to Elfrink, PSV still has patience. ''The club wants, as in the business surrounding Filip Kostic and Kodai Sano, to keep its patience and not switch over too quickly, with the chance that then a lower-caliber player has to be brought in,'' the reporter continues.
Only when there is one hundred percent certainty that the former Feyenoord player is still out of reach after all, will PSV, according to Elfrink, start looking for an alternative. Is there no longer any confidence that Geertruida can come to Eindhoven? Then PSV will have to switch tracks after all,'' said the PSV watcher.
Earlier this week, the German newspaper BILD still brought out the news that Geertruida for both PSV and Feyenoord would nevertheless be unfeasible since RB Leipzig demands a sum of at least twenty million euros for the defender. ''In the past few days, rumors have been circulating in the Netherlands about Geertruida. However, for PSV and Feyenoord the international is currently too expensive. Leipzig is asking for 20 million euros for him'', BILD said.

Topkandidaat of niet, Leipzig is stingy 💀. Echter, als ze wachten tot 100% zekerheid is dat hij niet haalbaar is, kan PSV straks weer achter de feiten aanlopen. Lets go for a real target, not a waiting game 🔥⚽
If Geertruida is truly onhaalbaar, they need to switch faster imo. Achterin versterken mag niet alleen een droom zijn, zeker niet als we Europees moeten spelen. Wat zijn dan de echte alternatieven, want die geruchten hebben we al gezien.
If they wait zoals bij Kostic en Sano, dan hoop ik dat het niet eindigt met een mindere aankoop. Geertruida is echt de juiste prof, maar die prijs van Leipzig klinkt alsof het een dealmaker wordt of niks. 🔥👀
"PSV wil geduld bewaren" klinkt mooi, maar imo moet je dan ook echt een plan B klaar hebben. Als Leipzig 20 miljoen blijft roepen dan wordt het anders een dure misser. 🤡

Geertruida als topkandidaat klopt gewoon... Alleen 20 miljoen gaat echt pijn doen. Ik snap dat PSV geduld wil, maar wanneer BILD dat soort bedragen dropt, is het wel oppassen. We willen geen "wacht tot ie onhaalbaar is" scenario.
Geertruida blijft natuurlijk de logische naam, maar 20 miljoen... dat is wel een serieus bedrag hoor. PSV kan beter geduld hebben dan een mid-contract speler halen, maar ik ben benieuwd of Leipzig echt zakt.
