Desired support for PSV at home: "This really feels like coming home"

PSV has officially signed Sam Lammers. Earlier this week, Lammers was already medically assessed by PSV at TopSupport in Eindhoven, and now the transfer of the forward—who had fallen off the sidelines at FC Twente—is definitively complete.

With that, the striker returns to PSV, where Lammers made his debut for the first team in September 2016. On the PSV club website, the fresh PSV player, who will be wearing shirt number 29, shares an initial reaction to his return to Eindhoven.

''This really feels like coming home. Incredible to see how, in the meantime, the club has been building—literally and figuratively. The academy has received a huge upgrade in terms of facilities, the first-team area has been completely renovated, and I haven't even mentioned all the improvements in the stadium yet. PSV is on the rise—you can feel it in everything'', says Lammers.

The attacker left PSV in 2020 for Atalanta Bergamo and, via all sorts of detours, Lammers returned to the Netherlands in 2024 to play on loan for FC Utrecht. In the summer of 2024, the striker was permanently acquired by FC Twente from Rangers FC.

Now the rush is returning to the old nest, and that gives the native Tilburger a good feeling. ''From the very first phone call, the feeling on both sides was absolutely great. For me, it was a no-brainer to return to PSV. The complete picture just fits now. I'm back with a lot of desire, new energy, and ambition,'' said Lammers.

Technical director Earnest Stewart is also pleased with the striker’s return. ''We were still looking for a strong addition to the striker position and Sam was at the very top of everyone’s list. He fits very well into the style of play that PSV stands for, has a lot of experience, knows the club, and is a proven goalscorer. In addition, he brings the right mentality and knows what it takes to perform at PSV. We are therefore very happy that Sam is back in Eindhoven,'' said Stewart.
