Dennis Man will definitively not join Lazio Roma due to the arrival of a former PSV player
1 min readAs the transfer market was closing, Dennis Man seemed to be on his way out at PSV since Lazio Roma had made a bid for the Romanian. A transfer from Man to the Italian capital is now, however, definitively off the table and the winger will therefore stay at PSV.
The Italians were eager to add an extra attacker to the squad and, as a result, the club is said to have approached Dennis Man. Now it is clear that the Romanian, despite little prospect of playing time at PSV, will simply stay in Eindhoven.
That is because former PSV player Albert Gudmundsson, who was active in Eindhoven between 2015 and 2018, has left on a loan deal for the club from the blue part of Rome. The Romans take over the forward from Fiorentina with an option to buy.
After this season, the Icelander could finally make the move to Lazio Roma for twelve million euros. Fiorentina bought the former PSV player last year for seventeen million euros from Genoa CFC.
After his spell at PSV, the Icelander left in 2018 to continue his career at AZ. Through the Alkmaar side, Gudmundsson then ended up at Genoa in 2022, and in 2025 the forward therefore moved to Fiorentina, which will keep him away for at least a year at Lazio Roma.

Wie denkt nu dat Dennis ineens een starter wordt? Guus Til en Luuk-achtige opties weg is niet ineens. Maar oké, voor PSV is het minimaal een positief signaal dat hij blijft.
Since Lazio is also picking up an ex-PSV from the blue side, it feels a bit like the market is circling us. If Man truly had little playing time at PSV, the club must change something tactically, otherwise he will be another bench option. 🙄
"definitief van de baan" jaaaaa. Als Man dit seizoen weer terugvalt, dan wordt het wel echt frustrerend, want zo'n kans om te blijven is er nu gewoon. 🔥
Ik snap dat Lazio een extra aanvaller wilde, maar gezien de "weinig uitzicht op speeltijd" op Dennis echt bizar dat hij zo vlak voor deadline bleef. Dan moet de trainer hem nu wel brengen, anders wordt het een gemiste kans.
Gudmundsson naar Lazio op huurbasis met koopoptie snap ik wel, maar dit laat toch zien dat PSV ook gewoon waarde kan doorverkopen/doorstromen. Dennis blijft dus, alleen ben benieuwd wie hem dan echt gaat helpen doorbreken.
12 miljoen na dit seizoen voor Gudmundsson... dat is echt een bedrag waar PSV op zou moeten bijsturen. Maar goed, laat Dennis lekker blijven en focus op die vleugels, wtf lol.
Gudmundsson terug in Rome via een huurbasis is slim geregeld, maar dat maakt Dennis niet automatisch beter. If Man niet speelt, dan blijft het een beetje mid squad move.
Lazio komt met belangstelling voor Man en dan blijkt het alsnog niks. Wat mij betreft is het vooral goed nieuws: Man blijft, maar wel contractueel druk om te leveren in de aanval. 👀⚽
thank god Dennis stays... but ngl we need more minutes for him if he is just warming up. If Lazio thought he was the answer, PSV should use him properly now.
"definitief van de baan" feels good 😂 ik vond het echt zonde als Dennis nog voor hetzelfde scenario was verkocht. Hopelijk krijgt hij nu toch consistent speeltijd, anders is dit alsnog frustrerend.
Lazio komt voor Man, en dan blijkt het uiteindelijk Gudmundsson die de hoofdrol krijgt. Tbh ben ik opgelucht, Man kan in onze rotatie gewoon waarde hebben als hij kansen krijgt.
