Babadi had contact with a former teammate for a temporary move: “That’s the title I’m putting on it.”
1 min readIsaac Babadi will play the rest of the season on a loan basis for Sparta Rotterdam. Very quickly it became clear that there was no place for the midfielder in this season’s squad under coach Peter Bosz and PSV was keen to cooperate with a move.
Three years ago, Babadi still had a flashy debut in Eindhoven, and the attacking midfielder was, among other things, responsible for the opening goal in the match against Sturm Graz (4-1) in the Champions League qualifying round. Because of this as well, a great future was predicted for Babadi.
Three years later, the situation is completely different, as he is now out of favor with Bosz. Last year, Babadi was already loaned out without success to Royal Antwerp FC, and now the midfielder is therefore being loaned out again by PSV.
For his temporary move to Sparta Rotterdam, Babadi was still looking for contact with former teammate Johan Bakayoko, currently under contract with CL opponent RB Leipzig. The on-loan PSV player tells ESPN's camera.
Babadi is looking forward to his stint in Rotterdam-West. "I have the coach's and the club's trust. For now, it's a great fit. Everything is right. I joked the other day; I had Johan Bakayoko on the line and I said: 'it feels like my debut season'. That's the title I attach to it," the midfielder is candid.
Nevertheless, Babadi still hopes to succeed at PSV. ''I rule nothing out. PSV focuses on something, I do too. May our paths meet again someday, then that is the case. For now, I focus on Sparta,'' the loaned PSV player said.
