"PSV Inside" saying we need more control, ok fair, but Tbh we need more penetration too. Koopmeiners floating instead of attacking the half-spaces is costing us tempo, and it feels like the fullbacks dont trust their duels. Fix that and we are cruising 🔥
If PSV go with that midfield setup again, i already see the problem. Gutierrez should be higher up to link play, not stuck breaking up counters all game. Also Ledezma needs to be braver carrying the ball, otherwise its just sideways passes.
Felt like the key quote was "tempo through the thirds". Yeah, that works, but only if our wide guys actually take on their marker. Otherwise it turns into safe passes and thats mid.
Midfield balance is the whole story for me. If X is asked to cover too much space, our build-up gets slow and we end up recycling passes instead of breaking lines.
If PSV really go with that high press again, i worry we get punished by the first long ball behind the fullbacks. 👀 Still, when we win it in midfield, it looks so dangerous in transition.
