Weak response | Xavi addresses “dissatisfied” Peter Bosz regarding PSV player
1 min readAt first, Guus Til was not included in Xavi Hernandez's Oranje squad, to Peter Bosz's great surprise. Now, Til has been selected after all.
That has to do with the fact that Justin Kluivert has dropped out due to an injury, just like former PSV player Donyell Malen. The latter has been replaced by AZ striker Mexx Meerdink.
Bosz was surprised last Friday by the fact that Til had to receive the news via the media and that no one from the KNVB had called the midfielder. ''For him personally, that is extremely disappointing. He didn’t even get a call. That is quite unusual, because he was there at the World Cup. Guus had to find out via the media that he wasn’t in the squad,'' the coach said last Friday during the press conference ahead of FC Twente - PSV, as quoted by Voetbal International.
Last Monday, Xavi held a press conference in Zeist to provide text and explanation about his selection. There, the Spaniard also addressed the words Bosz spoke about initially not selecting Til.
The national coach says that he is open to all opinions, but this reaction was certainly not one to call strong. ''I respect all opinions. Journalists and coaches will always miss players. But we all want what is best for the national team. Til is in any case there now'', Xavi said, who with this statement gave a rather weak reaction to a question about Peter Bosz, who in turn did not look immediately satisfied after he learned that Til had not received a call from Zeist.
Bosz couldn’t accept that Til, despite being included in the World Cup squad, hadn’t received a call explaining why he wasn’t selected.

Bosz zo ongelukkig over dat Til via de media moest horen dat hij niet geselecteerd was... dat is echt slordig. En dan "open staan voor meningen" zeggen alsof het alleen maar interpretatie is, terwijl het gewoon om een belletje gaat. 🤬
Xavi zegt "Til is er nu wel bij", prima, maar het punt van Bosz blijft gewoon staan. Als je een speler uit je eigen WK-selectie volgt, bel je toch even. Anders krijg je dus ruis en onrust rondom Twente - PSV. 👀
"Til is er nu wel bij" ja sure, maar dat verandert niks aan die eerste fout. Bosz keek niet voor niets zuur na dat bericht, dit ruikt naar mismanagement bij de KNVB. 100% vraag ik me af wie er verantwoordelijk is.
Goated dat Til er nu toch bij is, maar Bosz heeft gewoon een punt. Als KNVB niet belt terwijl je WK-niveau haalt, dan is het echt een communicatie-fail. 💀
Xavi zegt "Ik respecteer alle meningen", maar inhoudelijk reageert hij vrij droog. Als Til op het WK zat, dan is een call gewoon de minimale service. Kom op zeg, dit kan PSV en Til ook mentaal raken.
tbh die KNVB kan echt niet met dit soort communicatie omgaan. Bosz heeft gelijk dat het wrang is, Til zat tenslotte op het WK. Aan de andere kant is Xavi ook gewoon politiek slim:
