Victory on the home debut for PSV player
1 min readMauro Junior made his debut last Friday for Brazil. Last Tuesday, the PSV player was named in the starting lineup for the first time with the Seleção.
Both times, the team of national coach Carlo Ancelotti took action against Australia. Last week, the match ended 1-1 and Mauro came on.
Last Tuesday, the PSV captain was allowed to start in the starting lineup for the first time, and despite being 2-1 down, the Brazilians won 2-4 against the Socceroos. Mauro was eventually replaced in the 87th minute by Arthur Dias.
Brazil went 0-1 up early in the match through a goal by Vanderson. However, the Australians managed to turn this early deficit into a 2-1 lead thanks to strikes by Alessandro Circati and Connor Mercalfe.

Ultimately, both teams went into the break with a 2-2 score as Raphina managed to shoot the ball behind goalkeeper Patrick Beach from eleven meters. About halfway through the second half, Ancelotti's team pulled the match in their favor.
Thanks to goals by Bruno Guimarães and Vinicius Jr., the final score was set at 2-4, thereby preventing Brazil from suffering yet another defeat. Next Saturday, the Brazilians will be in action once more when India is the opponent in Calcutta.

Raphina from the spot for 2-2 at half time saved them, tbh. I'd like to see more consistency from midfield defensively, but overall this debut sounds like a good step forward for Mauro. 🔥
Wacht even, Mauro started but Brazil won with 2-4 after being down 2-1. That tells me his role in balance and tempo is being valued, not just hype. If he keeps that at PSV, we are cooking.
Eens, die Vanderson goal vroeg was nice but Brazil had to respond fast. Circati en Mercalfe draaiden die wedstrijd om, so its not like Mauro walked into an easy win. Wat een wake-up.
"was uiteindelijk in de 87e minuut vervangen" is exactly the kind of transition PSV fans worry about. But if it means he is not overworked, fine. De wedstrijd liep wel lekker na die goal van Bruno en Vinicius.
That 0-1 and then 2-1, 2-2, 2-4... insane game management. Mauro getting in for 87 minutes and then out for Arthur Dias feels like Ancelotti protecting the minutes.
First start in the Seleção and he was already key, i like that confidence. Replacing him in the 87th is smart too, dont risk the young guy.
Jongens Mauro Junior in de basis en dan ook nog winnen, dat is gewoon goed voor het vertrouwen. Tbh die wissel in de 87e zegt wel dat Ancelotti hem gecontroleerd gebruikte.
