Van Nistelrooij said: “Comes from the work of Rogér Linssen and Nigel de Jong.”

Journalist Valentijn Driessen from De Telegraaf is certain that former PSV coach Ruud van Nistelrooij will be part of Xavi Hernandez’ technical staff with the Netherlands national team. Driessen says so in the podcast Kick-off by De Telegraaf.

The journalist managed to tell this when colleague Mike Verweij expressed his surprise about the fact that the KNVB has only announced that Xavi is the new national team coach and that nothing is known yet about the rest of the coaching staff. ''Xavi's staff is not all set at all yet. Next Tuesday, I believe, is the introduction in Zeist, with a press conference. Then you can surely hope that that staff is finalized. Normally you appoint a national team coach, look at the staff, and ultimately present the complete picture. It really looks like they've panicked in Zeist'', Verweij says.

Afterwards, Driessen manages to report that he knows more about the technical staff. “Three men are, I believe, held up,” says the reporter without doubt.

Then the journalist goes into the names that are mentioned. ''That is Xavi’s brother; he’s always there everywhere. Without his brother, he doesn’t dare to leave the house. Then we have Ruud van Nistelrooy, who comes from the workshop of Rogér Linssen and Nigel de Jong. And Patrick Lodewijks, who was already there as a goalkeeper coach. He’s also mentioned'', Driessen reports.

The journalist also expects a number of Spanish trainers. ''And then perhaps there will still be one or two more Spaniards added. And maybe still a Dutchman,'' Driessen said.
