Twente - PSV | "Everyone could see he was special"

This concerns the seventh matchday of the Eredivisie. Peter Bosz’s side hopes to enter the international break as league leaders. At De Grolsch Veste, PSV will have to take into account winger Sondre Ørjasæter. The Norwegian was transferred in 2025 for approximately five million euros from Sarpsborg 08, where the forward was a team-mate of former PSV player Menno Koch.
In conversation with ESPN, Koch says he is impressed by Ørjasæter's qualities. ''That pure, natural talent. I've seen quite a few talents in my career. At PSV too, I've seen a lot of boys who were naturally very gifted, but I think I can name very few who came close to him,'' the former PSV player says.
According to the defender, the attacker is a born talent. ''He has a very good technique, but he also sees things. Sometimes in training he did something that made you think: you’re actually much too good for this level. Everyone saw that he was special. I’ve met Brazilians who had that too. Sondre has it as well, but then with a kind of Norwegian down-to-earth practicality'', Koch continues.
Even so, Noor also wants to think about life outside professional football. ''If we did something with the team or had a day off during a training camp and went out, he would run a bit ahead when it came to having fun. You could tell that sometimes he just longed to be a normal boy. He doesn’t want to be nothing but a professional footballer,'' Koch says about it.
In the end, the former PSV player still sees an area for improvement for the forward of the Tukkers. ''The only thing missing is his end product. If he can take one more step there… Then the sky’s the limit for him'', said the defender.

Bruh, ik vind het vooral opvallend dat Koch ook zegt dat hij gewoon een normale jongen wil zijn. Als PSV dat clubgevoel kan matchen met intensiteit op het veld, dan voelt die "prof-mentaliteit" minder. Ik reken erop dat Bosz dit als scouting gebruikt: druk op zijn eindproduct, niet alleen zijn voorzetten. 👏

Echt brutaal hoe Koch het brengt: pure talent, techniek, ziet dingen. Oké, maar PSV moet zondag niet alleen verdedigen, ook ziczelf laten gelden. Als we de bal lang hebben, kan Twente hem minder laten genieten van countermomenten. 💯
idk about "league leaders" talk, but PSV at De Grolsch Veste is always chaos. If Ørjasæter is Norwegian pragmatism plus technique, then we need intensity in the first 20 minutes. 🔥
Noor Koch saying "everyone saw that he was special" sounds great, but end product is where matches get decided. PSV should force him wide and make him play for low percentage cuts. If he doesn't score, he is less dangerous, simple.
That line about the only thing missing being the end product is scary, because if he finally adds that one step... Twente could cook us. Still, feels like a perfect PSV matchup if we control the wings and punish transitions.

Idk, ik ben vooral benieuwd hoe PSV omgaat met zijn techniek en het 'dingen zien'. Als Bosz achterin te hoog staat, kan Ørjasæter dat genadeloos cashen. Maar als we compact blijven en hem alleen van de zijkant laten komen, dan wordt die eindproduct-discussie misschien ons wapen.
Koch die zegt "iedereen zag dat hij speciaal was" klinkt lekker, maar ik hoop dat PSV zondag juist zijn deadline doorbreekt. Als zijn techniek goed is, dan wordt het tijd voor een verdediging die niet laat draaien en geen vrije half-meters weg geeft. 🔥
Must-win inderdaad, Twente uit is altijd lastig. Maar als Ørjasæter het "eindproduct" nog niet heeft, dan moeten PSV daar slim op druk zetten en hem dwingen tot matige keuzes. Wijnaldum? Nee, Koch noemt hem echt "speciaal", dus Bosz moet hem vanaf de opbouw al schaden.
Must-win away at Twente, i get the pressure, but if Ørjasæter is as "too good" as Koch says, PSV better track him all game. 👀
