There’s no lack of trust in Enschede, but realistically it’s definitely not the case.

1 min read

PSV travels on Sunday afternoon as the table leaders to Enschede for the match against number 4 FC Twente. The team of Peter Bosz will normally enter the international break with a win as league leaders.

In each of the past three seasons, PSV brought the full haul back to Eindhoven. The most recent defeat at De Grolsch Veste dates back to 3 September 2022, when the Twente side managed to win 2-1 under the leadership of Ron Jans.

Despite the fact that PSV managed to end their last seven league matches both away and at home with wins, coach John van den Brom is full of confidence ahead of the clash with the reigning national champions. Van den Brom says this in an interview with FC Twente’s club channel.

Still, the training master is impressed with PSV. ''PSV has been the best team in the league for several years already. A team with a lot of excellent players,'' the coach says.

Last season, PSV won their last league match at home 5-1 against the Tukkers, and thanks to NEC’s victory over Go Ahead Eagles, the side from Enschede missed out on the Champions League qualifying round. ''That was a painful match. We also used that duel in the analysis for Sunday'', Van den Brom looks back.

FC Twente have not suffered a defeat in the Eredivisie since the false start to the season, away at sc Heerenveen (1-0), and partly because of that there is enough confidence ahead of the clash with PSV. ''We are fit and ready to turn it into a real match. It’s going to be a hell of a game though—we’re up for it. We’re in the mood too'', said the coach, who is familiar with FC Twente’s results against PSV. In short, a mission-impossible for the club from Enschede.
