Special shirt next? | PSV shares striking news

Earlier this year, PSV unveiled the Efteling shirt. In the past, PSV has already unveiled several unique shirts.

For example, in May 2015 the PSV/Nike Farewell kit was presented, in which PSV said farewell to kit sponsor Nike while wearing a purple kit. From 1995 to 2015, the American brand was PSV’s kit sponsor, and then PSV switched to Umbro before going on to Puma in 2020.

In April 2016, PSV presented the PSV Heritage kit. This was a fully red shirt with the old PSV logo on the chest, and in that outfit farewell was taken from main sponsor Philips as shirt sponsor, since the club started playing with Energiedirect.nl on the shirt from 2016/2017.

At the end of the 2018/2019 season, PSV unveiled a shirt that paid tribute to the farewell of Energiedirect.nl as shirt sponsor. In September 2023, PSV unveiled the PSV x Philips Celebration Kit, which commemorated the 110-year partnership with namesake Philips, and in addition, Philips returned to the PSV shirt for once.

Now it certainly looks as though PSV will present a special shirt again on Monday, October 5. On social media, PSV shares a striking post with the text 05.10.2026 followed by an hourglass emoji and the PSV logo that was used between 1948 and 1953.

On X, some fans already seem to know what this date refers to, namely the 100th birthday of PSV icon Coen Dillen. ''A new retro shirt based on the time of Coen Dillen. We don't have to make it that difficult'', writes supporter @MarkM040.

Also supporter @PSVSupp_Nijkerk thinks that this date refers to Dillen. ''PSV - Heerenveen will be played in the special Coen Dillen match shirt'', according to this PSV fan.
