Special duel for PSV player coming up | Farewell match of youth idol
1 min readPSV's Esmir Bajraktarevic was important for Bosnia and Herzegovina last week. The Balkan country won 2-4 away against Romania.
In Bucharest, Bajraktarevic was good for two assists and, partly thanks to that, the Bosnians recorded their first win in this Nations League. On Friday evening, Bajraktarevic & co. have their home match against Sweden on the schedule in Zenica.
The match is under the banner of Zlatni ljiljani (The Golden Lilies), in honor of the farewell match of star Edin Dzeko. The 40-year-old Dzeko made his debut on 2 June 2007 in the UEFA European Championship qualifying match against Turkey (3-2 victory) and after almost 19.5 years is saying farewell to the national team.
For Bajraktarevic, the poster with the Scandinavian country on Friday evening is particularly special. ''Edin Dzeko was my childhood idol and we will give everything against Sweden for him and Bosnia and Herzegovina'', said the PSV player to Bosnian media after the won match against Romania.

The right winger also addresses the fact that the match against the Romanians was played in an empty stadium. This had to do with disturbances during a game involving the Romanian team and Kosovo.
''There was a strange atmosphere. We adapted well, not thinking about it, and focused on winning the match,'' Bajraktarevic said.
The goals will be remembered. The memories will live forever. More than a striker. More than a captain. A symbol of Bosnia and Herzegovina forever. For those of us who grew up watching Edin become a superstar and a legend, this Friday will be very hard and emotional for all of us… pic.twitter.com/o3jV0sYZ1y
