Sergino Dest praises teammate: “He is very calm and good on the ball.”

Sergino Dest on Thursday evening had a double night for PSV against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League. Dest was namely involved shortly before halftime in Shakhtar's 0-1 and, after the break, provided for the final score of 1-1 on an assist from Armando Obispo.

Afterwards, the American was present at the press conference to chat about the duel with the Ukrainians. The right back sat with mixed feelings in the press room.

''Naturally it felt like we had to win this match, but in the previous years we didn't win the first match. Now we have a point, so there is progress there. But more could have been achieved'', says Dest, as quoted by Voetbal International.

The American international is full of praise for the fact that PSV’s defense is often found deep in the opponent’s half, pointing in particular to Lutsharel Geertruida. ''This season we always play one-on-one. You have to trust each other and win the duels. So far, that’s going well for us. We play like this, everyone knows that by now. Sometimes you end up in other positions,'' the defender says.

With newcomer Geertruida, the right-back is very pleased. ''He makes a good impression here. He is very calm and comfortable on the ball, looks ahead quickly and provides cross passes. He is simply a very good player to have alongside me', said the right-back, who also stands out going forward. 'Maybe I take my moments a bit better and conditionsally it improves a little. It comes off well at the moment'', said Dest.
