Ron Jans praises PSV player: "You hardly ever see that"

Despite a rocky start at De Galgenwaard, PSV overran FC Utrecht with a 1-6 win. Before halftime, Peter Bosz’s side turned a deficit into a 1-2 lead thanks to goals from Ruben van Bommel and Guus Til.

Ahead of the 1-2 from Til, midfielder Kodai Sano played a brilliant pass to center back Ryan Flamingo. Via Flamingo, the ball eventually ended up with right back Sergino Dest, who laid the ball off so that Guus Til only had to turn it in at the far post.

Former FC Utrecht head coach Ron Jans, who stepped down last season as a professional football coach, is full of praise for Til’s goal and then especially for Sano’s role. Jans says this at NOS Studio Sport Voetbal.

The Japanese, according to the former coach, provided the pass of the weekend in advance of the second PSV goal. ''I have the pass of the weekend. That is a pass from Sano. You hardly ever see that. It’s so much risk. You have to see it, you have to dare it, you have to be able to execute it'', Jans begins his praise.

At PSV, Joey Veerman left a few weeks ago and according to the former football coach, PSV has brought in an excellent midfielder with the Japanese player. ''He takes a look for a moment. Everyone would almost play it diagonally back to the central defender, but he plays it over him. Then there’s also a goal. This is really quite special, you know. I think Sano is a very good acquisition,'' Jans said.
