PSV player gets pay for work and can report to the national team

1 min read

Since his debut for PSV on 15 August in the away match against Excelsior (1-2), Kodai Sano has been impossible to leave out of coach Peter Bosz's starting lineup. Since that match, in which the midfielder Paul Wanner was replaced, Sano has not missed a single minute in the PSV shirt and has already made his mark in Eindhoven.

That hasn’t escaped Japan’s national coach either. The PSV player has in fact been selected for the friendly internationals against Uruguay, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Last summer the Japanese player had to let the World Cup in North America pass him by. Sano, in fact, was not selected for Japan's World Cup squad, but despite that, the current PSV player was able to quickly switch gears.

The midfielder came last month for fifteen million euros from NEC, where Sano had an excellent season with Dick Schreuder’s team. Under Schreuder, Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie secured third place and thus qualified for the Champions League play-off round, where they were ultimately eliminated by the Norwegian club FK Bodø/Glimt.

Despite his strong season in Nijmegen, the Japanese national team coach decided to leave Sano out and therefore not include him in the World Cup squad. Now the midfielder is one of PSV’s key players and now the PSV player may also show his skills for the Japanese national team.

Wie kijkt mee naar Uruguay-Ecuador-Venezuela? 👀 Sano gaat daar zeker minuten maken.
