PSV issues an update about what is still a “serious” injury

Pepe started in the starting lineup last Sunday for the away match at FC Twente (3-2). However, after six minutes it was already over for the American striker and the forward was forced to leave the field injured for substitute Sven Mijnans.
Additionally, the American international also did not travel for various exhibition matches with Team USA. Pepi, who was also already heavily plagued by injuries last year, will stay in Eindhoven to focus on his recovery.
How many matches Pepi has to miss is not reported. However, this is coach Peter Bosz’s latest setback regarding injuries, and especially in the attacking position.
In mid-August, Alassane Pléa also fell out due to a new injury, and the expectation is that the Frenchman will remain on the sidelines until the end of this month. In addition, Bosz has also been unable to call on new signing Sam Lammers in recent weeks, likewise due to an injury.
Pepe also gives a reaction. ''Thanks to everyone for the warm messages. Unfortunately, this is a small setback for the moment. I have already started my recovery so I can be back as soon as possible and help the team'', the American said.

Eens... maar na ''bedankt voor de warme berichten'' verwacht ik vooral dat we snel een helder plan krijgen. Zou Mijnans nu moeten doordrukken als spits, of komt er toch nog een tactische tweak? 👀🔥
Boosz? nee Bosz natuurlijk, maar dit is echt elke keer raak in de punt. Al Plea en Lammers erbij en nu Pepi... Hopelijk zegt de scan wel hoeveel weken het is, anders gokken we met de aanval.
''Dit is helaas even een kleine tegenslag'' zegt hij, maar voor Bosz is het ondertussen wel een grote. Als de duur niet gemeld wordt, vrees ik dat we lang zonder Pepi zitten. Dan moet de punt toch echt efficiënter worden met wat er is.
Niet zo slim timing zo na Twente... maar weer pech voor die spitspositie. Hoop dat Mijnans nu echt kansen pakt, want Bosz kan geen fitte opties missen.
Ik begrijp het herstelgedoe met USA, maar dit voelt echt als een patroon. Vorig jaar al veel blessureleed en nu weer vroeg afhaken. Met Pléa en Lammers erbij wordt Mijnans ineens wel heel belangrijk.
Brutal zeg, Pepi al na 6 minuten eruit tegen Twente... en dan ook niet mee met USA. Hopelijk is het iets kleins, want Bosz heeft echt elke week een nieuwe blessure in de spits nodig. 💀⚽
