Peter Bosz will not address a transfer target: “I don’t do that.”
1 min readPSV still has hope that Lutsharel Geertruida will come to Eindhoven. According to Eindhovens Dagblad, Geertruida has been personally in agreement with PSV for some time, but RB Leipzig's asking price can still spoil things.
Earlier this week, the German newspaper BILD still wrote that the defender is unaffordable for PSV. ''In the Netherlands, rumors have been circulating lately about Geertruida. For PSV and Feyenoord, however, the international is currently too expensive. Leipzig is asking for 20 million euros for him'', BILD said.
Despite this, Rik Elfrink reported in Eindhovens Dagblad that Geertruida is still the top candidate to strengthen PSV's defense. ''As is well known, PSV is looking around in Germany for a central defender, where Lutsharel Geertruida plays for RB Leipzig. He was still the top candidate to strengthen PSV last week'', Elfrink wrote in the ED.
Coach Peter Bosz did not want to comment on the rumors about the defender at the press conference prior to the match against Fortuna Sittard. A journalist remarks in this regard that bringing in the former Feyenoord player is not going smoothly.
''I don't know that'', Bosz begins his answer. ''We are, however, more interested in a whole lot, because there are plenty of good players and also in what we are interested in'', the coach continues.
Afterwards, the coach is asked whether Geertruida could play a role in the better defensive system. ''I'm not going to talk about a player from Leipzig. I don't do that, and I don't think it's decent. I also wouldn't like it if my players were talked about, so I shouldn't do it with others either'', Bosz is adamant.

When Bosz says "Oh dat weet ik niet", you can read it both ways. Either Geertruida is still a realistic option, or we are just keeping the door open while the price is a non-starter. Either way, PSV cannot wait too long if we want defensive stability fast.
tbh i respect how Bosz shuts it down. But the "not going to talk about a Leipzig player" vibe makes it feel like the deal is not as close as ED says... 🔥
Bosz saying "Dat doe ik niet" is so fair, but man, Leipzig asking 20m is gonna kill the move. If Geertruida is the top target, we need a Plan B that can actually start day one.
