Peter Bosz on a remarkable announcement: “All the boys jumped on top of him.”

It will probably not have escaped anyone that PSV captain Mauro Junior will soon be allowed to join the squad of the Brazilian national team. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has selected Mauro for the friendly matches against Australia and India.

The captain of PSV received this news personally from coach Peter Bosz. During the press conference after the match PSV - Shakhtar Donetsk (1-1) last Thursday, Bosz looks back on this moment.

''I had almost given it away already on Saturday'', the trainer begins, as quoted by Sportnieuws.nl. ''It was really very nice. I heard it from Earnest (Stewart, ed.) after the match against Ajax. He let me read the invitation, so then I asked him: does Mauro know this already? Well, apparently he didn't'', Bosz continues.

Then the coach passed on the news in a special way. ''In the locker room I asked: 'do we have Mauro Jaqueson Júnior Ferreira dos Santos in our squad?' I saw Mauro looking... So then I said: 'you've been selected for the Brazilian national team.' All the boys piled on him, it was great,'' says the born resident of Apeldoorn.

After that, Bosz continues. ''For us Dutch people, that's something special, but what do you think it means for a Brazilian? Just looking at how they experience such a announcement with family and friends... We are really super proud that we can deliver another player to a national team'', says the coach.

Yet the PSV coach is also aiming his sights at the KNVB, since the football association has never decided to naturalize Mauro into a Dutchman. ''I do think it is a major loss that the KNVB didn’t push ahead. There aren’t many good left backs and if you need him somewhere at a tournament in another place, he can do that as well. He has already shown that with us. But anyway, I think it’s too late now,'' Bosz said.
