Persistent criticism completely unjustified | Much criticism after an earlier call failed to arrive from Zeist

Guus Til continues to receive and still has to process a lot of criticism when his name appears on the match report.

That can now be called quite scandalous. Til, in fact, always delivers everywhere and at all times. Even on Sunday afternoon in Enschede, Til once again provided his contribution to a PSV that was playing well now and then, which nevertheless lost. There are still PSV fans who don't rate Til. In the meantime, national team coach Xavi has had second thoughts, because the PSV player has still been called up for Oranje, after Kluivert was asked to say so.

Peter Bosz didn’t mince his words either on Friday afternoon when he was asked about it. Bosz said he couldn’t understand that Til didn’t even get a call from Xavi or from his assistants—just a call about why he wasn’t selected for Orange. On Sunday evening, the news came after all that he is in fact selected.

The ongoing criticisms of Guus Til are therefore unjustified. Fortunately, Til also received some good news last week. Britt Stefels, Til’s girlfriend, announced on Instagram that she is expecting their first child.
The couple has been together since 2019, but they share virtually nothing about their private lives on social media. The midfielder himself focuses on Instagram mainly on his career as a professional footballer, and Stefels also often chooses to share as few personal moments as possible with the outside world.

Besides the partner of the PSV player, Stefels' sister is also pregnant and as a result the sisters are heading into a special phase of their lives. ''Being this close to each other is one thing, but being pregnant together is...'', she wrote earlier this week on her Instagram story.

Now Stefels has also shared a video on Instagram with the caption 'Defenitely the biggest project so far', followed by an emoji of a baby head. So for the couple, a lovely period is on the way, provided everything goes well and remains healthy.

Since his arrival in 2022 at PSV, Til has also been an important piece for PSV. Last season, the midfielder made a name for himself mainly as an occasional striker, and as a result former national team coach Ronald Koeman decided to include the PSV player in the World Cup squad of the Netherlands national team.

The Netherlands national team may have a new national coach, but that doesn’t mean no criticism is being delivered. Even plenty of criticism, after no call was made to Guus Til. Til was included by Koeman in the World Cup squad for the global tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada, but coach Xavi, instead, did not select him. A major setback....
