Once again, lots of praise for the PSV crowd: “I was really afraid of cynicism.”

The PSV crowd on Sunday afternoon during the match against AZ sang en masse for the Johan Cruijff Shield despite the fact that Peter Bosz’s team was trailing 0-4 and thus had little chance of winning. That stood out to newcomer Sven Mijnans earlier already, and there is plenty of praise for the PSV faithful as well in De Rood Wit Podcast.

Tommie van der Leegte, however, had not expected that the majority of the crowd would simply stay seated. ''I really thought: I’m going to see only people walking down the stairs. I really thought that'', says Van der Leegte in the podcast.

Then PSV fan Pascal van der Voort picks up a dig at Amsterdam. ''It’s not an Arena, is it?'', says Van der Voort, after which Van der Leegte responds: ''No, but I thought: I’d understood that as well, because you were really not watching anything. Or only watching AZ, and that’s quite a thing. I honestly thought it was fantastic''

Then Van der Voort hooks back in again. ''I was really afraid of cynicism in the stands'', says the PSV fan from day one.

After that, Van der Voort continues. ''That you indeed were going to get those 'Stewart, wake up!'-songs. And then something like that happens and you think: 'this is going to be misery.' And actually what happens then, and that’s so beautiful, I think, about PSV. I genuinely got goosebumps,'' said the PSV supporter.
