1 min readPeter Bosz starts next Saturday his fourth season in the Eredivisie as coach of PSV. Since his appointment, PSV has won three consecutive national titles, and in 2026/2027 Bosz hopes with PSV to go for the fourth title in a row.
Still, sports marketer Chris Woerts thinks that Bosz is being put under pressure internally at PSV. Woerts says this in the program Nieuws van de Dag on SBS6.
''I think Bosz actually should have become the new national team coach. He is now essentially chasing the facts. I think that after Sunday, Peter Bosz is also under pressure internally at PSV. He will never finish the season if he keeps performing as poorly as this'', the sports marketer is certain.
Despite the fact that the flag hangs differently at PSV since Bosz became the coach, Woerts thinks that the effect of the trainer at PSV is gradually wearing off, and attention is also drawn to the defeat in the Johan Cruyff Shield against AZ (0-4). ''I think it’s more about mentality, the composition of the group'', says Woerts.
The sports marketer also believes that the born Apple defender has been at PSV for too long. ''Bosz is entering his fourth year at PSV. That's a very long time for a coach. Usually the effect has worn off after two or three years. I know Peter very well; I worked with him at Feyenoord. He's a nice guy and a very good analyst, but: too long at PSV'', according to Woerts.

De stelling van Chris Woerts voelt als een beetje te makkelijk. Een bondscoach had misschien gekund, maar dat effect langzaam uitwerkt na 2-3 jaar is geen wet van Meden en Perzen. Ik ben vooral benieuwd of die mentaliteit en groepssamenstelling echt anders is, of dat het vooral na één keiharde score blijft hangen.
"Bosz gaat nooit het seizoen afmaken als hij zó slecht blijft presteren"... ja sure, maar we hebben al bewezen dat hij juist piekt in lange trajecten. Als we zondag goed spelen, is deze hele drukpraat meteen weg 💯🔥
Fire take, bruh. Three titles in a row cant be a fluke, but if Bosz stays "achter de feiten aanlopen" level, everyone turns on him quick. ngl i want to see a clear plan, not excuses.
Ik snap de twijfel wel over "te lang bij PSV", maar Bosz is geen seizoen-voor-seizoen trainer. Met zijn analytische aanpak en selectie-gestuurde keuzes kan dat juist werken zolang de spelers het doorhebben.
az just punished us so hard in that Johan Cruijff Schaal, 0-4 is not a small thing 😅. I agree with Woerts on the mentality and group composition point, but calling it "too late" for Bosz feels a bit premature. Still, we need results fast this season.
Dat AZ 0-4 is natuurlijk pijnlijk, maar zeg nou eerlijk, zo maak je een mentaliteitsdiscussie niet met één wedstrijd. Als de groep wel draait, is zo'n nederlaag vooral een wakker-schud moment.

That quote about "Hij gaat nooit het seizoen afmaken als hij zó slecht blijft presteren" is wild, but tbh I get the worry. The 0-4 Cruijff Shield vs AZ felt like the setup and mentality were just off, not only tactics. If we start slow again, pressure is real.
