Newcomer PSV praised: “You can clearly see he has specific qualities”
1 min readAgainst the end of the summer transfer window, PSV managed to further strengthen itself with the seventeen-year-old talent Mikkel Bro Hansen. The Dane arrived for about three million euros from FK Bodø/Glimt in Norway.
Last Monday, the striker made his debut for Jong PSV in the match against Jong AZ. Stijn Schaars’ team could not get beyond 1-1 and brought Bro Hansen on.
Afterwards, Schaars was full of praise for the forward in front of the ESPN camera. ''I would have liked to see him put that chance away right away, then it would have been 2-0'', begins the coach of Jong PSV.
Then the former footballer goes into the qualities of the Dane. ''You can see that he has specific qualities; I’m certainly positive about that. It’s always difficult to simply put your stamp on a team, with a number of things he still has some work to do, but he has interesting traits: a good run into space, a feel for goal, he keeps the ball well under control—those are good things'', Schaars says.
Also Nick Olij and Noah Fernandez made minutes with Jong PSV. ''Nick has to bring it every time when he is with us. We all know his age and his situation. I am very satisfied with Nick; always professional, taking the boys along in the coaching, what he radiates to the team, truly a great compliment'', the coach says.
Fernandez also receives the necessary praise. ''Noah did everything he could for ninety minutes. Not everything worked out equally well, but going from the first match back to Jong is always a mental adjustment. He did that well'', concludes Schaars.

Nick Olij en Noah Fernandez ook genoemd, en dat is eerlijk gezegd het meest geruststellende: Olij brengt telkens professionaliteit en Fernandez maakte negentig minuten met mentale omschakeling. Hopelijk krijgt Bro Hansen snel meer speelminuten, want zijn kansen moeten er toch in beginnen te vallen.
"Je ziet wel dat hij specifieke kwaliteiten heeft" klinkt mooi, maar 17-jarige spits moet ook constant maken. Goed dat hij de bal vasthoudt en die loopactie heeft, al lijkt het me dat hij nog meer moet scoren om echt door te breken 👀
Olij klinkt bijna alsof hij te volwassen is voor Jong, altijd professioneel en jongens meenemen in de coaching. Dat is dan weer precies het soort voorbeeldgedrag dat je op papier vooral in 1 team hoopt te zien.
Noah Fernandez 90 minuten alles geven en dan mentaal schakelen van het eerste terug naar Jong... respect. Als hij dat niveau doortrekt, komt hij vanzelf vaker in de plannen van PSV.
Jammer dat het 1-1 bleef, maar goed debuut voor die leeftijd. Wel benieuwd hoe snel hij die 3 miljoen waard wordt, want vast houden en vasthouden in de juiste momenten is nog een level hoger.

Mikkel Bro Hansen klinkt echt als een spits die je meteen in het plaatje kunt gebruiken. Zijn loopactie en gevoel voor de goal, dat is precies wat Jong vaak nodig heeft.
tbh die 1-1 is zuur, want Schaars had liever "die kans er gelijk had ingeschoten". Maar wel logisch dat hij nog moet wennen, je ziet wel basis kwaliteiten 🔥
Mikkel Bro Hansen voor 3 miljoen en dan meteen invallen bij Jong PSV, dat is toch wel een signaal. Schaars zegt precies waar het zit: goede loopactie en gevoel voor de goal, dat kan echt een rendement geven.
