Marciano Vink tips another NEC player to PSV: “In terms of potential and how he fills the role”
1 min readAfter long negotiations, PSV has finally taken over Kodai Sano from NEC. Sano played an important role last season in Nijmegen in securing qualification for the Champions League preliminary round and, as a result, attracted a great deal of interest both at home and abroad.
Besides the Japanese player, PSV would, according to ESPN analyst Marciano Vink, do well to knock once more in Nijmegen. According to Vink, Darko Nejasmic would be an excellent option for Peter Bosz’s team as a defensive midfielder in the middle of the park.
Jerdy Schouten is ruled out until at least 2027 and that means that Bosz in any case cannot call on the captain for the first half of the season. According to the ESPN analyst, the Croat would be an ideal outcome for PSV.
''Said it all by Ajax, said it all by Feyenoord, said it all by PSV. It can all work out, in terms of potential and how he’s filling it in'', the former footballer is adamant in the ESPN program Voetbalpraat.
Vink also speaks highly of Nejasmic's performance in the away match against Olympiacos (0-0) in the Champions League qualifying round of last Tuesday. ''Even about those six. Where did they get those from? Seriously'', the analyst waxes lyrical about the Croat who came to Nijmegen in 2025 via the United Arab Emirates.

Ik ben wel benieuwd hoe PSV de rol van captain gaat oplossen zolang Schouten niet kan. Nejasmic als controleur is een goeie noodoplossing, maar ik wil ook zien wie de voorwaartse passing en rust gaat brengen bij druk. ⚽
I do think Vink is right about the fit. Bosz gaat geen risico nemen in de eerste seizoenshelft en met Nejasmic krijg je iemand die de rol als controleur consistent invult. Als Sano dan ook doorpakt, kunnen ze gewoon doorselecteren in plaats van schuiven.
Echt, "Waar hebben ze die vandaan getoverd?" 👀 Die zes in 2025 voor NEC was al verrassend degelijk. Als hij dat niveau vasthoudt in PSV, dan is dit een winnende zet. 💯
Kodai Sano gehaald, prima. Maar als Nejasmic erbij komt, dan moet het middenveld wel kloppen qua beweging, anders krijg je weer zo'n trage opbouw. Imo Bosz moet hem snel in een systeem gieten.
Die quote over "even over die zes" 😂 Ik snap wel waarom Vink zo enthousiast is na 0-0 tegen Olympiakos. Maar PSV heeft juist ook tempo nodig, gaat Nejasmic dat meegeven of wordt het vooral controle?
bruh die ESPN-analist met "Waar hebben ze die vandaan getoverd?" is me net te enthousiast lol. Maar ok, als hij het niveau tegen Olympiakos haalt en het tempo niet laat zakken, dan is het wel een logische stap. 🔥

Kodai Sano is een banger, maar PSG (lees: PSV) heeft ook gewoon die controleur nodig. Nejasmic zou imo de ideale tussenoplossing zijn zolang Schouten niet beschikbaar is. Helemaal als hij al zo goed over die 6 kan spelen.
"Qua potentie en hoe hij het invult" klinkt alsof Marciano precies ziet wat Bosz nodig heeft. Tbh ik vond hem tegen Olympiakos echt stevig, 0-0 zegt genoeg over zijn controle 👀⚽
Als Jerdy inderdaad tot 2027 out is, dan snap ik die link met Nejasmic wel. En die quote van Vink "Nejasmic bij Ajax, Nejasmic bij Feyenoord, Nejasmic bij PSV" is echt grappig, maar ook wel realistisch gezien zijn invulling.
Nejasmic als controleur klinkt logisch, zeker nu Schouten er tot 2027 uit ligt. Maar ik hoop dat Bosz dan ook echt durft te bouwen met hem en niet alleen "dekken".
