In Rotterdam-South, attention turns to PSV: “Last week, it already annoyed me a bit.”
1 min readLast weekend, Feyenoord made a strong showing away to PEC Zwolle by winning 0-7 in the Overijssel capital. Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team won all of their away matches this season so far, but at home they managed to draw twice 2-2 against respectively Go Ahead Eagles and ADO Den Haag.
Because of that as well, it sounded from various football fans that the Rotterdam side this season will not play a significant role in the fight for the national title. Former Feyenoord striker and outspoken Feyenoord supporter Michiel Kramer, however, thinks differently.
Kramer lets us know in his column for 1908.nl. ''You could say that Zwolle is an easy opponent, but in my view Feyenoord hit such a high level that Zwolle was hopeless from minute one. By putting their foot down and pulling the match towards them with good, attacking football and lots of chances, they made a statement'', the former footballer begins about the performance of the Rotterdammers on their visit to PEC Zwolle.
PSV is also brought up next. ''Last week I already got a bit annoyed by the fact that it was said that the gap had to be filled with PSV. If I then see on Sunday that a certain level is being mentioned and that I compare it with Ajax and PSV, I think that the differences at the moment aren't that big. Then I assume that Feyenoord will also be in the running for the championship'', Kramer continues.
According to Feyenoord supporter, this match must keep up this level. ''From now on we’re setting the bar at this level. This is the minimum we should expect from Feyenoord. You may not be able to play every match like this, but you have to have the intention to approach every match in the same way as you did yesterday,'' Kramer said.

Breng dit niveau naar De Kuip, en ja, dan "meedoen om het kampioenschap" is logisch. Maar PSV moet ook gaan switchen van aanvallen naar afmaken, want anders gaat Feyenoord gewoon doorlopen 🐐⚽
0-7 bij PEC is echt bizar. Maar ik blijf hangen bij die quote over het "niveau aantikken" vergelijken met Ajax en PSV, want dat betekent eigenlijk dat onze ploeg dezelfde stap moet zetten. Willen we kampioen worden, dan moeten we ook zulke statement-wedstrijden winnen, niet alleen tegen de 'makkelijke' ploegen.
Eens. Iedereen roept "dichten met PSV" maar Feyenoord heeft gewoon momenten waarop ze iedereen slopen, dan is het meteen een race. Hopelijk blijft PSV die intentie ook zo hoog houden, elke wedstrijd 100% 🔥⚽
The part about "het minimale wat we moeten verwachten" is interesting. PSV fans will take that as a challenge, but tbh Feyenoord also showed they can drop points quickly. That is exactly where PSV kan toeslaan.
"Als ik dan zondag zie dat er een bepaald niveau wordt aangereikt"... oké bruh, dat niveau was daar top. Maar ik wil dit PSV-niveau ook week in week uit zien, anders is het gewoon pieken.
Kramer zegt dat Ajax en PSV vergelijkbaar zijn, maar imo is het probleem dat Feyenoord het weg zo goed doet en thuis minder. PSV moet vooral zorgen dat ze consistent blijven, want anders heb je die titeldiscussie meteen weer in je nek.
"Vorige week stoorde ik me al een beetje" ... fair point van Kramer, maar hoezo Ajax en PSV vergelijken als Feyenoord Zwolle al na minuut één weg drukt met 0-7. Ben benieuwd of PSV dit tempo en die intensiteit ook 90 minuten kan.
Michiel Kramer zegt dat het gat met PSV niet groot is, maar tbh Feyenoord laat dit soort niveaus gewoon vaker zien dan wij nu consistent doen. Als PSV niet snel antwoord geeft, voelt zo'n titelstrijd gelijker dan het hoort.
Feyenoord 0-7 bij Zwolle was bizar, maar thuis 2-2 tegen Go Ahead en ADO zegt ook genoeg. Kramer heeft wel gelijk dat je niet alleen naar de stand moet kijken, maar PSV kan dit seizoen ook gewoon mee op dat niveau.
"Vorige week stoorde ik me al een beetje" is echt herkenbaar. Iedereen praat over het gat dichten met PSV, maar als je de niveaus naast elkaar zet is het echt niet zo'n gigantisch verschil.
