In Munich, it sounds like: “He will become very important for us this season.”
1 min readFC Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was a happy man last Saturday as his team managed to win the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup. The record champions won 1-2 at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park and thus took the first trophy of the German football season.
On the FC Bayern side, Ismael Saibari started on the bench in favor of Nathaniel Brown, who was responsible for the 0-1. In the 81st minute, Saibari was allowed to come on for Brown with the score at 1-2.
After the match, Kompany spoke to Sky Sports Deutschland and the coach initially had nothing but praise for Harry Kane and Michael Olise, who last season were very important for the team from southern Germany and who recently also came out at the World Cup in North America. ''They trained with us only three times and proved they can play ninety minutes. In the past, in my time, you would come back from vacation with three, four extra kilos. Now the players have their own trainers and return fit from their vacation,'' said the Belgian after the match to the sports broadcaster
Then former PSV player Ismael Saibari was also mentioned, who last Sunday, ahead of PSV - FC Groningen, was farewelled by the PSV crowd. "He will still become very important for us this season," Kompany said convincingly.

After the match, Saibari looked for Joey Veerman, who last Saturday made his official debut for Borussia Dortmund. Veerman began just like his former teammate on the bench and was allowed to come on in the 63rd minute for Felix Nmecha.
