In Enschede, people are looking forward to the match with PSV, but it also seems that the arrival of PSV is being feared.

Next Sunday, PSV faces in matchday 7 the always troublesome away fixture against number 4 FC Twente. Peter Bosz’s team kicks off on Sunday afternoon at 14:30 in De Grolsch Veste and hopes, as leaders, to head into the international break.

Last Saturday, the team of John van den Brom won at home with 2-0 against ADO Den Haag, and a few days before that Telstar was beaten 1-0. Even so, business agent René Wagelaar believes that these results mean nothing, and Wagelaar is of the opinion that the Tukkers only know where they stand when they have faced PSV.

That is what the agent says in the program VoetbalTijd on local broadcaster 1Twente. ''Luckily, we have those matches against the bottom teams. The referee whistles, FC Twente goes one way and then you can watch for 89 minutes. Once in a while, there’s a breakaway from ADO Den Haag or Telstar. But for the rest, it’s all so predictable against those lower-ranked sides. For the neutral spectator, that’s not fun to watch, is it?'', Wagelaar says.

After that, attention shifts to the duel FC Twente - PSV. ''Next Sunday PSV will come, and then you’ll see each other. I find that a lot more fun, man. I find those great match-ups. But this isn’t really something to watch, man. Oh, how predictable. You know that Twente wins, only not by how much. No, Sunday, at home against PSV. Then you can see how they’re doing'', concludes the agent.

Since the appointment of Peter Bosz as coach of PSV, the club has brought home the full haul from Enschede three times. Last season, they won 0-2 thanks to an own goal by Max Bruns and a goal by captain Jerdy Schouten.

The last defeat of PSV in Enschede dates back to 3 September 2022. Back then, the Tukkers under the leadership of Ron Jans won 2-1 against PSV, coached by Ruud van Nistelrooy, who played a poor first half at De Grolsch Veste and was presented with the bill for it.
