Guus Til collides with a reporter: “Sorry, what did you say?”
1 min readGuus Til was of great value on Sunday evening as a substitute for Oranje. Til provided the winning assist for AZ striker Mexx Meerdink.
Afterwards, PSV midfielder spoke with ESPN reporter Pascal Kamperman. During that interview, the two men did not see eye to eye, and it has now also become clear that ESPN has taken the interview offline.
At first, they were asked what national team coach Xavi Hernandez demands from his players. ''Of course, it’s new for everyone. It’s a bit about adjusting, listening well, and trying to implement as quickly as possible what he wants,'' Til told Kamperman.
After that, the two collided with each other when the ESPN reporter brought up an old quote by the PSV player in which Til would have said that he is currently not in the best form. ''Sorry, what did you say? Well, I said that it has to be better if I'm not selected, apparently. If I'm not selected, then I have to play better. That's as simple as that,'' Til responded, surprised.

Afterwards, Kamperman asked whether the midfielder now had to prove himself extra, since Xavi brought him in after Justin Kluivert dropped out. Til couldn't quite agree with that either.
''Yes, Pascal, I don't think so. I just want to do what he wants and simply try to contribute. I don't think about my shape. Quality always comes to the surface, so I don't think in those terms the way you do'', the PSV player said.
Kamperman did not agree with the last words Til spoke, but nevertheless the midfielder stuck to his position. ''No, but you do try to put a bit of it in my mouth,'' Til told him, after which Kamperman closed: ''No, not that! I'm trying to see how you think.''

I see both sides, bruh.
