Good luck to the stronghold who may be in his final weeks at PSV
1 min readPSV did not agree earlier this week with the settlement proposal from the KNVB to suspend Joey Veerman for three matches, one of which is conditional after his red card in the Johan Cruijff Shield match against AZ (0-4). Veerman and PSV appealed, and the case was heard on Thursday evening by the KNVB disciplinary committee.
PSV and the midfielder have succeeded in appealing the sentence, since Veerman now only needs to miss the opening match against Fortuna Sittard on Saturday evening. The strongman of PSV is indeed suspended for two matches, one of which is conditional, and that means Veerman can simply come into action against Excelsior on Saturday, August 15.
The match against AZ was not a great success for the midfielder since he had to leave the field after nine minutes due to a foul on striker Mexx Meerdink. Because of this as well, Peter Bosz's team had no chance against the Alkmaar side and in the end it finished 0-4.
In addition, the question remains as to how much longer Veerman will still be working for PSV. According to Tuttomercatoweb, AS Monaco is allegedly interested in bringing the midfielder to the tiny state.

Besides the Monégasques, among others SL Benfica, Internazionale and Atalanta are also said to be interested in taking over Veerman from PSV. As is known, the midfielder has a release clause in his contract and he has often openly indicated that he still wants to make a transfer.

Joey is basically our metronome. If he leaves soon, Bosz will have to rebuild the whole rhythm. But if the transfer clause is real and he wants out, we have to accept it and get a proper replacement in fast. 🤬📈
The fact he can play vs Excelsior is a win, but that AZ incident still worries me. If he plays that aggressive again, it will cost us in the long run. Also, Monaco talk is not exactly calming...
ngl, i like that PSV fought it. Veerman only misses Fortuna, and that conditional thing is huge for midfield stability. tbh that AZ red felt harsh but it killed the game early, 0-4 was brutal.
