Former PSV player from Serbia mentioned in shocking story about former Manchester United defender
1 min readThe Serbian media outlet Krik has released a bewildering story about Slavisa Kokeza, the former president of the Serbian football association. According to the investigative platform, Kokeza wanted to have former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic murdered.
Some journalists from the Balkan country, in fact, investigated several reports from the former chairman. It turned out that Kokeza has contacts with the mafia in Serbia and also with some football hooligans.
According to the newspaper Trouw, Vidic was also described as 'someone who had to go to the cemetery.' The close ones of the former Serbian footballer were horrified by this news, and the realization has also sunk in with the former defender by now.
In addition, a GPS tracker would have been placed under Vidic’s car by Kokeza and there would also have been contact with a sniper. According to Krik, this is because the former footballer, in 2020, voiced criticism of the Serbian football association.
Besides Vidic, Nemanja Matic and former PSV player Danko Lazovic are also mentioned in the story. Lazovic played for PSV from mid-2007 to March 2010 and in 2008 played a major role in the battle for the league title by scoring the only goal in the final league match against Vitesse, which allowed PSV to secure the 21st league title in the club’s history.
According to Krik, there would also have been plans to intimidate both Matic and Lazovic. In the meantime, Vidic has filed a complaint against Kokeza after the stories came out.

People will argue about federation politics, but threats, trackers, and "cemetery" language cross every line. Also, mentioning Matic and Lazovic shows this was targeted, not random. tbh i want PSV to keep distance and for the truth to come out fast.
Just seeing "Kokeza wanted Vidic murdered" and "mafia contacts" in the same story is 🤬. I hope authorities treat this like it is as real as it sounds, not like a tabloid rant.
Danko Lazovic being mentioned is the part that hit me the most. He was a PSV hero in that 2008 title run, and now headlines are linking him to intimidation plans... disgusting.
I cant believe they even mention a GPS tracker and sniper contact. That is not "football politics", that is serious criminal stuff, smh. Vidic filing a complaint makes sense.
What the hell... Nemanja Vidic getting described as "someone who had to go to the cemetery" is absolutely insane. If these allegations are true, PSV guys like Danko Lazovic really did get pulled into a toxic situation too.
