Expected lineup in Utrecht: The status of ‘main player’ Geertruida and the ‘€13 million reserve player’
1 min readPeter Bosz's team seems to be slowly building momentum. After the phenomenal home match against FC Groningen and the fairly good away performance at Excelsior, it appears that an upward trend has been set in motion.
A year ago, it took a while—some weeks, or possibly even a few months longer—before an upward trend was set in motion. FC Utrecht is next opponent. How will Bosz have his team play now that Geertruida has returned to full fitness?
Bosz has given Lutsharel Geertruida, who in fact is already considered a regular starter right away, his first start in the Domstad. Bosz also seems to be willing to use him here. On the other hand, it seems there is no room in the starting lineup for Sven Mijnans for the time being. The man worth 13 million euros will still need to get up to fitness and sharpness before he can be considered for a starting spot.
The 5-1 win over FC Groningen means, in any case, that Ruben van Bommel will be allowed to start again in Utrecht immediately. The same normally applies to the scorers Ivan Perisic, Ricardo Pepi, and Sergino Dest.
Newcomers Geertruida and Filip Kostić will quickly start to play in the starting lineup, or may even already be able to call themselves regular starters in Utrecht. Geertruida, Mauro Júnior, Armando Obispo and Sergino Dest will normally be set to start in the Domstad.
Also Guus Til, Kodai Sano and top talent Noah Fernandez will normally be starting, and that means that millionaire signing Sven Mijnans will have to make do with a place on the bench.
Expected lineup PSV in Utrecht: Kovar, Mauro Junior, Obispo, Geertruida, Dest, Til, Sano, Fernandez, Van Bommel, Pepi, Perisic

If Geertruida is fit, he has to start.
