ESPN is confident: “I think PSV will wait to see what kind of big move they’re going to make.”

For some time now it has been clear that PSV still appears to be actively involved in the transfer market, unlike Ajax and Feyenoord. At PSV, up to this point, only Sven Mijnans has been brought in, and for the rest, incoming transfers have, until now, failed to materialize.

Earlier, PSV watcher Rik Elfrink from the Eindhoven Daily Gazette already wrote an article about why PSV no longer leak their transfer targets. This has to do with the fact that last year the schedule of technical director Earnest Stewart almost ended up on the street.

''Last year, the director of football operations had to learn, to his own astonishment, that his entire purchase schedule in a specific weekend (late June) was on a well-trafficked PSV forum'', Elfrink wrote last month.

Even at ESPN, it has been noticed that PSV seems less active, and reporter Cristian Willaert has not missed that either. Willaert, however, suspects that the club management is waiting to sign certain players.

In doing so, the reporter points in particular to the defense, where the call for reinforcements is greatest among PSV supporters. ''Is the problem at PSV not that when you buy a defender for real money, but Sergiño Dest remains, you think you could have done something else better. If you now buy a midfielder and Joey Veerman stays, then maybe you should have done something else. If Ricardo Pepi stays and you buy a striker...'', said Willaert on the ESPN program Tekengeld.

Then the reporter continues. ''I think PSV is waiting to see which big move they are going to make, before they look at where they can best spend the money'', Willaert thinks, after which presenter Yordi Yamali and is of the opinion that PSV has already made a coup with Sven Mijnans. ''Mijnans is a financially friendly solution for Ismael Saibari. And you've become champions three times, right? Then you've got grease on your bones'', the presenter says.
