ESPN analyst praises PSV forward: “I see that in various other players I don’t”
1 min readAfter more than a year, Alassane Pléa made his first competitive minutes for PSV during the match against Fortuna Sittard (2-2). Pléa joined last season from Borussia Mönchengladbach and had an unfortunate start at PSV when the Frenchman suffered a serious injury in the second league match and was out for the rest of the season.
The striker was allowed to play against Fortuna for 22 minutes, and Karim El Ahmadi didn't miss that either. The ESPN analyst also expects the forward to get more playing time this season.
''He is a pacey ball player, with whom you can play through. I see that with various other players, but not with them. The combination with Til and Saibari was still fine, and then you had someone with Saibari with whom you can play through. But with Pepi and Til, I don't see that'', says the former footballer on Dit Was Het Weekend on ESPN.
El Ahmadi therefore expects more minutes for the striker this season. ''A Pléa, once he is completely fit, will likely make more minutes. You could see that he was a guy who constantly wanted the ball. That's good for the midfield and for the wingers. They can then play a one-two. It looked good'', said the analyst.
Even leek the Frenchman set up the winning assist for Noah Fernandez when it became 2-1 for PSV. In the end, Édouard Michut put a spoke in the wheel by blasting the equalizer past Matej Kovar in the 92nd minute.

If PSV really want to keep dominating possession, they need to be quicker with the first pass into the half-spaces. Without that, it becomes slow and easy to defend, imo.
