Elfrink outlines a situation with unnecessary PSV players: “Headache file”
1 min readIt should be clear that there is no future at PSV for Adamo Nagalo and Isaac Babadi anymore. Last month, Nagalo still seemed set to continue his career at Corum FK in Turkey, but this transfer ultimately did not go through at the last moment.
The defender joined in 2024 from FC Nordsjælland, but never managed to impress in Eindhoven. Nagalo played only twelve official matches for Peter Bosz's team and can therefore now definitely leave after the defender was already loaned to Konyaspor in the second half of the previous season.
''Nagalo, that is complicated. They are going to look for a solution for that. It’s a headache file at the moment. He isn’t fit. They would have liked to sell him to Corum FK, but that didn’t work out'', PSV watcher Rik Elfrink says in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang of the ED.
After that, Elfrink also discusses Isaac Babadi's situation. In 2023, Babadi made his debut with PSV's first team and a great future was predicted for him.
Three years later, the situation for the attacking midfielder is completely different. In the build-up, Babadi was told by Peter Bosz that there is no place for him in the squad for the 2026/2027 season.
In the past season, the midfielder was already loaned out to Royal Antwerp FC from Belgium, but that adventure also brought little. Earlier, among others, Willem II would have shown interest in taking him over, but it won’t be easy.
According to Elfrink, in particular Babadi's salary is a stumbling block for various Eredivisie clubs. ''And Babadi... Yes, very sad for that guy. He's now with Jong PSV. He carries that burdensome weight of a hefty salary with him. Clubs aren't just going to agree to that. And he himself, of course, doesn't just say: okay, then I'll go play for PEC Zwolle for a hundred grand'', according to the PSV watcher.

I agree with Elfrink on the practical side: if Corum and Antwerp dont move the needle, PSV needs an exit plan, not just hope. Make the wage fit the squad or sell properly, otherwise it becomes a recurring headache.
Idk if clubs won't touch Babadi only because of salary, but Jong PSV with that "loden last" is brutal. If Willem II was interested, why didn't a deal ever happen? 🤡
"Hij draagt die loden last van een dik salaris" lol dit is zo herkenbaar bij talent dat te duur wordt voor de Nederlandse clubs. Jong PSV als tussenstation, fair... maar voor Babadi moet er gewoon snel iets bewegen. 💀
Babadi man... predicted to be a big thing, now hearing Bosz basically says no place for 2026/2027. Tbh the salary being the blocker makes sense, but still crazy how it turns like this. 💀
Met Babadi is het wrang, want in 2023 klonk het echt als een grote toekomst. Maar als Bosz in de voorbereiding zegt dat er geen plek is voor 2026/2027, dan is het gewoon een sportieve doodlopende weg. Zijn salaris klinkt als de echte rem, niet de kwaliteit.
Die Corum-transfer ging "op het laatste moment toch niet door" en nu is het weer schade beperken. Naah, dit is precies waarom je altijd moet durven cashen zodra het kan. 🔥
Nagalo not fit + transfer to Corum failing, yikes. I just hope PSV handles these cases fast, because every extra month drags the whole wage and planning situation.
Twaalf duels en dan blijkbaar nooit fit, dit voelt echt als een mislukte aankoop. Elfrink die het "hoofdpijndossier" noemt snap ik volledig, je wilt gewoon dat ze dit soort jongens niet laten hangen.
That quote about it being a "hoofdpijndossier" for Nagalo is spot on. 12 official games and not even fully fit... feels like wasted squad space when we needed depth.
