Earnest Stewart looks back: “It got a lot busier.”
1 min readThe transfer summer is over and that means that until January no new players can be bought. This also applies to PSV and technical director Earnest Stewart.
The carousel seemed at PSV to be coming into its own late, in contrast to concurrent Ajax, which managed to wrangle one player after another. Until the beginning of August, PSV, on the other hand, only presented Sven Mijnans as a newcomer, but then PSV also got some momentum.
Among others, Kodai Sano, Filip Kostic and Lutsharel Geertruida were brought in, and in recent days PSV also added Sami Ouaissa, Sam Lammers, Ayoni Santos and Mikkel Bro Hansen to the squad. In addition, this summer, among others, farewell was said to Ismael Saibari, Joey Veerman, Anass Salah-Eddine, Couhaib Driouech, Joël van den Berg and Joël Drommel.
Speaking with ESPN, Stewart looks back on this transfer period. ''It was hectic, very hectic. The past few days and weeks have been very hectic. If I take the summer as a whole, at the beginning we were able to do some business with Sven Mijnans. During the World Cup it was actually quite calm. After the World Cup, for me and for a lot of my colleagues, it became a completely different world and it got much busier'', the American begins.

PSV shopped mainly in the Eredivisie during this transfer period. ''Since I have been there, we have also had a number of moments when we shopped abroad. In this case, we had a lot of boys on our list from the Netherlands whom we think we can take to the next step with'', the TD says.
In general, Stewart looks back on things with satisfaction. ''Since the arrival of Lutsharel Geertruida, we have also been able to accomplish a lot thanks to our strength. We are happy that it worked out to bring these players in'', the American said.
