Contracted player decided to stay: “I’m not just going to leave PSV.”
1 min readIn the away match victory on the road at FC Utrecht (1-6), Guus Til once again proved important for PSV thanks to two goals. Just before halftime, Til, on an assist from Sergino Dest, made it 1-2 and with that scoreline, both teams also went into the break.
Despite a superiority on the pitch, it finally took until the 75th minute before Peter Bosz's team extended the score. A free kick from Mauro Junior made it 1-3 and in the end PSV still pulled away to 1-6.
Afterwards, Til was present at the press conference. The midfielder admits that a lot has changed within the club, partly due to Joey Veerman's departure to Borussia Dortmund and Joël Drommel's return to FC Twente.
Despite this, the occasion striker, active at PSV since 2022, decided to stay in Eindhoven. Still, this transfer period saw a lot of interest in Til.
''It was quite a search at the club, I have to be honest. They are just my friends and every day we were together. So it was quite a search for me. Mauro Junior and Nick Olij are also my friends. But we were just really very close to each other, so it really is something of an adjustment'', says Til during the press conference, as quoted by the national newspaper De Telegraaf.
The opportunity striker is moreover still happily in Eindhoven. ''I'm not just going to leave PSV. I have it good here, so I'm not going to leave for just any club. There have been a few clubs, but none of the ones I thought: 'I'll do that''', concludes the midfielder.

Good quotes from Til tbh. Losing Veerman is big, but the way he mentions Mauro Junior and Nick Olij as "maatjes" shows the squad is bonding quickly, not fracturing. If the club keeps this core, PSV will be dangerous again.
Utrecht away 1-6 and still it took until the 75th for PSV to pull away... that midfield control has to be better. Til being key saves the day, but Bosz must tighten the first phase.
The part about Dest finding him before half time was key, that 1-2 swing was massive. Props for staying in Eindhoven though, but now Bosz needs to keep giving Til those moments so he can keep scoring, not just doing the dirty work.
"Ik ga niet zomaar weg bij PSV" man i love that attitude. If PSV keeps building around guys like Til, it makes the whole project feel stable even with departures.
Nice to hear he says it was "even zoeken" after the changes. Idk, feels like PSV is building a new chemistry in midfield, and Til is part of that. Also props to Dest for that assist before halftime.

Til getting 2 again in Utrecht is pure proof he fits the big games. Also fair that he said it was "even zoeken" with all the changes after Veerman left, still looks like chemistry is holding up.
