Bosz speaks out about the attacker: “Fortunately, it’s going in the right direction.”

1 min read

It has every appearance of Alassane Pléa being close to his official return in the PSV kit. That was what coach Peter Bosz said on Friday afternoon during the press conference ahead of PSV - Fortuna Sittard.

Pléa joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach last summer and suffered a serious injury on 17 August 2025 in the away match against FC Twente (0-2). As a result, the Frenchman was sidelined for the rest of the season.

Now the striker is therefore on a hard road to making his comeback. However, Bosz did have concerns about the forward during the preparation.

''Fortunately, it really is going the right way'', Bosz confirms after the coach gets a question about the status of Pléa. ''I did have some concerns. Basically, when that injury happened and you saw what was going on, and I was told here what the real situation was, then you really start worrying: 'Is he ever going to come back at all?''', the coach continues.

In addition, Bosz talks about 'a world of difference' between the Pléa of today and that of six weeks ago. ''Luckily, we had him during the preparations; that was an extra thing that turned out well that there were quite a lot of boys who weren't there, which meant we could give him a lot of minutes. So he, at least, had that,'' the coach says.

"''We are very happy about that and he has started walking better; which is something very logical: from the beginning he was cautious in the duels, and he has already started playing more duels, and he has made enormous progress in that,'' Bosz says further."

The coach also delves into the technique of the Frenchman. ''What struck me is that his technique, which is extraordinary, is still extraordinary. He hasn’t given up anything on that. So for him it’s purely about his fitness and the match rhythm he will still have to develop further, but in any case he is on the right track. And I’m very happy about that, that he’s already so far,'' said Bosz.

On my way back, Pléa! ❤️⚽
