Bosz looks ahead: “It’s a good collective.”
1 min readFor PSV, Sunday afternoon at 14:30 marks the scheduled seventh match of the Eredivisie season 2026/2027. Peter Bosz’s side travels to Enschede for the clash with number 4, FC Twente.
Since Bosz’s arrival at PSV, the team has won three seasons in a row at De Grolsch Veste. Last season, they won 0-2 thanks to an own goal by Max Bruns and a goal by Jerdy Schouten.
Still, the match in Enschede is known as a traditional and tough away fixture. The PSV coach is aware of this as well during Friday afternoon’s press conference.
John van den Brom’s team had a sluggish start, getting eliminated in the Europa League preliminary round and suffering a 1-0 defeat away to sc Heerenveen in their first league match. ''This is already the umpteenth tough away match. Ajax, Utrecht, Excelsior and now also Twente. They got off to a bad start by losing the first match, but they are now on a good run'', says Bosz, as quoted by Voetbal International.
Besides, the Twente players currently have the least-permeated defense in the Eredivisie. ''So we have work to do. It’s a good collective. They operate well as a team, with good players. At home they are more dangerous than away,'' said the PSV coach.

Enschede is "Traditioneel lastig", sure, but we have Bosz form there, three straight wins before. Bosz saying "We can dus aan de bak" is the right mindset. If we press their back line like we should, Twente's defensive stats dont help them much 🔥⚽
Max Bruns own goal + Schouten goal for 0-2 last season, lol. Still feels like we got lucky, so im hoping we show it on the ball now. Twente have that tight defense, so if we go quiet in midfield its gonna be long... 👀
I love the confidence, but come on, "Thuis zijn ze gevaarlijker dan uit" is basically a warning for us. If Twente are already on a good run after that rough start, they can punish our transitions. Schouten and Bruns' 0-2 win last season feels like the blueprint, not the guarantee.

Bro, Bosz die Ajax en Utrecht noemt alsof dat hetzelfde niveau is als FC Twente... ok ok. Wel grappig dat Twente met goede reeks komt na die Europa League uitschakeling, dat ruikt naar een lastige middag in Enschede 😅
Jerdy Schouten en Max Bruns 0-2 vorig seizoen, prima geheugen maar Twente heeft nu juist top-defensie. Benieuwd of PSV gaat gokken met tempo of juist geduldig op die zwakkere momenten gaat mikken, want thuis zijn ze gevaarlijk.
Bosz zegt "Het is een goed collectief" en tbh Twente klopt echt teammatig. Als ze die minst gepasseerde defensie zo houden, wordt het weer zo'n wedstrijd waarin onze aanvallen net niet scherp genoeg zijn.
If Bosz says it is a "goed collectief", i fully get why we should not rely on individual magic. Twente look scary with that least-conceded defense, and De Grolsch Veste is always tough. We need intensity from the first minute, no sloppy start.
