Analysts were keen to see Sam Lammers move to Feyenoord: “He’s affordable.”
1 min readPSV is about to add Sam Lammers to the squad. Last weekend, PSV reached an agreement with FC Twente over a transfer, and the club's management will put an amount of two million euros on the table at De Grolsch Veste.
Analyst Hans Kraay Junior is of the opinion that Lammers would have fit in well with rival Feyenoord as well. Kraay says this in the podcast Willem & Wessel of VoetbalPrimeur with Feyenoord icon Willem van Hanegem.
In addition, at Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda has been sold by LOSC Lille. ''PSV wants to sign Sam Lammers. He’s affordable. Wouldn’t that be someone to take on the competition with Shaqueel of Persie? Feyenoord can afford him'', Kraay pointed out.
Van Hanegem shares Kraay's words. ''That's a good player. We miss the footballing. When I saw that PSV wanted to sign him, then I thought: 'They've done well there'. He's a good player, man. You get a footballer with it,'' De Kromme says.
Lammers was already medically approved on Monday afternoon at TopSupport in Eindhoven and the expectation is that PSV will present the striker soon. ''That is really a missed opportunity'', Kraay said.

"That is really a missed opportunity"... for Feyenoord maybe. But lets be real, Feyenoord also needs proper chances created. If PSV gets the better supply, Lammers will look like a banger. 🤬
That line from van Hanegem, "You get a footballer with it," i agree with. PSV grabbing him after medical approval is smart, and 2m euros feels like value. Still, we need service, otherwise it wont matter. 🚀
Ueda being sold and then PSV going for Lammers makes sense for both clubs, but i still wonder if PSV needed a more dominant finisher. Lammers as a rotation striker can work, just dont want him to be another 'good player' who disappears in big moments. 💀
From Feyenoord side, i wouldnt be too worried. Ueda out and we still have our style, but if Lammers really is that affordable goal-threat, PSV just strengthened the competition. Still, depends on how PSV uses him, not just the price.

Van Hanegem said "Theyve done well there" and "You get a footballer with it," so im curious what role he gets. If Shaqueel has to play wing more, Lammers could help, but only if he presses and links up.
