Still surprised about the call from a PSV fan: “So you’ve become a bit wingless now, then?”
1 min readLast week Mauro Junior made his debut for Brazil. Last Tuesday, PSV captain made his first start.
Last Tuesday, the Brazilians beat Australia 2-4, after being held to a 1-1 draw against that same country last Friday. And yet, in a sense, there is also some confusion about the fact that the midfielder, who is also a defender, has been selected by the national team coach Carlo Ancelotti.
That says former PSV goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus in the Skiete Willy Podcast from Voetbal International. ''It's great and I can hardly even say it. I understand that PSV supporters have Mauro very highly, I do too. But as a Brazilian international, I don't see it. At least not the way I always saw Brazil,'' Waterreus says.
After that, the born Limburger goes on. ''I have always looked to Brazil with big names, but they have now become a bit wingless,'' says the former goalkeeper.

Still, Waterreus wants to end on a positive note. ''I want that boy the world. Apparently Brazil is no longer what it used to be'', said the former PSV player.

Eens.
"vleugellam geworden" is zo'n nare framing, tbh.
