Sjaak Swart makes himself known once again and criticizes PSV: “They’ve got all the luck in the world.”
1 min readThere is no doubt where the club preference of former footballer Sjaak Swart lies. After all, Swart played his entire career for Ajax for no reason, and as a result he has been given the nickname 'Mister Ajax'.
It probably also won’t have escaped many people how angry the born Muidenberger was when Ajax on 8 May 2016 dropped the title to PSV after a 1-1 draw away at De Graafschap, while PSV managed to win 1-3 against PEC Zwolle. Mister Ajax was so angry that he hoped for the relegation of De Superboeren, which ultimately also happened.
The former footballer was present on Wednesday evening during the premiere of BASTA about former world striker Marco van Basten. There Swart also spoke to the camera of VoetbalPrimeur.
The former ex-coach was asked whether the championship would once again go to Ajax for the first time since 2022. ''Yes, that could just happen. The others aren’t that good either,'' Swart replies without any modesty.

''PSV is something less'', editor Brecht Versluis then notes. ''Ah. PSV has all the luck in the world. Really. They played against opponents.. Well... they wanted to shoot everything into their own goal. Terrible'', continues Mister Ajax.
After that, Swart is asked whether Feyenoord can play a meaningful role in the title race. ''They still have to show it first, but they do have good players too,'' the former footballer believes.
Finally, Mister Ajax also can’t help but let himself be known and bring that Amsterdam arrogance to the surface. ''We’re not champions ten times more for nothing than PSV, you know. Just so you know. So you don’t get confused. So you put PSV in first place'', said Swart.
