The club management would like to strengthen the squad with Lutsharel Geertruida, and Geertruida himself also has some ears for a move to PSV.
The former Feyenoord player may also leave his current employer RB Leipzig, but the Germans are demanding an amount of eighteen million euros for the defender. According to PSV watcher Jeroen Kapteijns from De Telegraaf, PSV is also surprisingly slow in signing a new center-back. Kapteijns says this in the De Telegraaf podcast Kick-off.
''Last season it was also too vulnerable and then Peter Bosz decided to move Jerdy Schouten further back. They still conceded a lot of goals, but in terms of building up it went better. In contrast to signing a central defender, PSV has managed to strengthen itself already with midfielders Sven Mijnans and Kodai Sano. In addition, Filip Kostić was also taken over on a free transfer from Juventus, and the Serb is primarily brought in for the left-back position.

Tbh i think the article is right about the lack of penetration through the middle. Until the front three combine faster, we will keep ending attacks on crosses, and teams will just block the box.
"PSV Inside" saying the game plan was controlled, but it felt too cautious. 1-0 leads make me nervous, we need one more goal early so we can actually breathe 😅
"We need intensity from minute one" is the right idea, but it has to come with discipline. If the wingers stay too wide, our midfield looks empty and the backline has to cover everything. I want more clever rotations, not just running.
Reading the PSV Inside take, i agree with the idea that the fullbacks can go higher, but only if the 6 covers. If Simons gets space to turn, everything goes fire 🔥
Diego Francos passing in the build-up is exactly what PSV has been missing. But idk if he can defend one-on-one when the fullback jumps high. Still, that tempo was tasty 🔥
If PSV dont manage to press like they did in that segment, they will get walked through in midfield. 👀 Lozano needs to drop a bit more and do his running off the ball.
If PSV really played like the article says, with that higher press, i love it. Gut feeling though, it only works if Sangare controls the second balls. Otherwise we get cooked in transition.
